Still have a little beef with the chicken about the (sorry to bring it up again) BYU 52-52 tie game back in the day. I really think that little show* he put on between the 3rd and 4th quarters (delayed the game also) caused the momentum to swing the other way. I will say it was one hell of a game but you know what they say about a tie. I will say the KGB chicken was much cooler then the San Diego Chicken, once he went big time it just wasn't the same. I still enjoyed that he was SD but it was just not the same. *All the little chicken eggs got dropped at the 50 yard line and the little chickens ran around the field. ALL I KNOW IS IT ENDED IN A TIE GAME, STILL NOT HAPPY (all these years later and no I won't get over it!)

I like to imagine all the Faulk years with a Rocky Long defense. Man that would have been something. I don't think I dreamed this but didn't Lavell (arms akimbo) Edwards refuse to shake Faulk's hand after Marshall broke some rushing record while playing against the Drolls?

All I know is that we were up 45-17 and lost. (My kingdom for a DB over 5'8".) And, yes, a Rocky Long defense with Faulk in the backfield would've led to some epic seasons, Top 10 rankings and a Heisman Trophy or two. Ugh. My favorite Chicken moment was when he came down to our section during the game against No. 12 Iowa State, circa 1981. We stomped on ISU 52-35, and the game wasn't that close. We subbed out the entire first string at the end of the third quarter. The Chicken and I had a beer guzzling contest. I'm sad to say, the Chicken won handily. But I think he had a container in his suit where he poured the beer. Or maybe not. It's still a mystery.

Did they still have the stadium beer loophole in '81, where people could bring their own beer in a gallon jug? Seems to me that stopped around the late 70's. Can't recall. Wasn't quite old enough yet to take advantage.

I remember a few of those nights thinking towards the bottom of the container that maybe next time drink faster or not bring in as much (never did learn). The chicken (the KGB version) was a pretty good drinker back in the day, saw it first hand a few times. He was a good dude always nice, took pictures with everyone always drank when someone gave him a drink and he was always great to the kids. He really got the ambassador roll of not just KGB and then San Diego but he was just being a good person all the time. I saw many times where people were giving him $#!+ for no reason pulling on his suit throwing stuff at him just being dicks in general and he just handled it up until he had to get handler (bodyguard) he just got to Big-Time not to.
