They'll still be doing intrasquad games at USD. It sounds like Morejon and Baez will be stretched out to hopefully be starting candidates, while some other guys can just work on getting polish in a low pressure environment. A ton of talent in the pool that didn't make the roster.

I mean that's a fairy level playing field, right? Do we think guys like Abrams and Hassell, who would be in the Midwest League and the AZL, respectively, are not going to improve facing legitimate MLB arms like Baez and Morejon? Guys like Cole Wilcox who was likely going to be limited to bullpen sessions anyway? I guess you can argue MAYBE guys like Trammell and some of the other AA types, but I think the difference is negligible over roughly 90 days. Edit : For the guys OUTSIDE the pool, I think it hurts significantly worse as they are largely on their own for a while with their development. If that's what you were saying, yes. I would agree. That's why I think they did their best to balance the needs of a roster with minor league development.

There will be many lower prospects that will be really hurt developmental wise without a minor league season this year. That holds true for all organizations. (And selfishly, I already miss going to minor league games this season)

Will any teams end up folding, due to no season this year? And what teams lose MLB affliations in the contraction?

And what teams lose MLB affliations in the contraction? Same plan as before from what I've heard. I did hear that it's possible that Elsinore and Fort Wayne essentially will flip levels. And the Padres will lose Tri-City.

I've seen stories that say Fresno is moving down to the Cal League to take Lancaster's place, but that the Cal league stays as High A. Who the hell knows at this point. I would think there are quite a few teams (and fan bases) and leagues that would like to know the future of their teams before next season.
