I first thought the OP was talking about Zion, so I was really confused.. Aside from Kawhi, and 2 years of Zylan, no other Aztecs playing in Orlando. McDaniels and the Charlotte Hornets not one of the 22 in Orlando. Too bad the young team needs to work, thier season has been over for a long time.

They're still contemplating doing a second "Bubble" in Chicago for McDaniels Hornets & the 7 other non-22 in Orlando. It's too bad Charlotte didn't make the cut as Jalen was really coming on late. Hopefully next year we add a 2nd SDSU pro in Flynn; 3rd if you count Zylan (technically he's a Sun Devil not an Aztec).

Flynn has been projected anywhere from 25-40 in most drafts, so have no doubt he'd have a guaranteed contract & will be playing in the league next year. Yes, Z is a Sun Devil & Flynn an Aztec, who hopefully will be yet another NBA guy from SDSU.

Why do we care about Zylan? He deserted the Aztecs...this should be moved to Off Topic....

Why do we care about Zylan? He deserted the Aztecs...this should be moved to Off Topic.... He moved back home to Phoenix with family in mind, hoping to mentor his younger brother who was shot and killed in a gang shooting. Coach Fish knew why Z went back to AZ, they didnt stand in his way. You're heartless. ...The two siblings, who were brothers on Cheatham’s father’s side and separated by 10 months, went to school together in seventh and eighth grade. They spent the night at each other’s houses, they swapped clothes, they played Pokemon together, and they shared a love for sports. A South Phoenix native, Cheatham went on to play at Westwind Prep Academy during his teenage years, causing him to live away from his hometown. His brother stayed in South Phoenix where some problems began. “I got away from the south side and that is where he continued to stay. Unfortunately, he got into gangs and just kind of running with the wrong people. It was a very unfortunate situation,” Cheatham said. “He chose that path and it was really tough accepting it. Even knowing what he was doing, you just never expect this to happen. When it did, it’s just devastating. I have had many sleepless nights over it.” ...A San Diego State transfer, Cheatham’s move back to the Phoenix area has provided him an opportunity as a key asset on a high-caliber Pac-12 basketball program, and it has allowed him to be within close proximity of family. ...Discussing his loved one, Cheatham still found time to reflect positive light on the grievous aftermath of such a tough situation. He didn’t reflect with sadness. Rather, he looked back to what he told Stewart on Christmas Day. “On a positive note, the last thing I did say to him was ‘I love you’,” Cheatham said. “I went out on good terms with him. We were on talking terms and I am just excited that I got to express that as last words.”

Should be in Other sports section regardless of family issues or just wanted to go somewhere else. He finished his college hoops career somewhere else, not SDSU.

I still consider him an Aztec. My kid use to play Fortnite with him and Devin Watson. He loved the Aztecs and remained close to some of the players. He cheered for the Aztecs and made decisions that were best for him and his family. Heck, we know he would have been used out of position and potentially hurt his career opportunities with the Aztecs. I guess there is no grudge or animosity from me and I understand that sometimes think just don’t work out. Besides, he left for a better conference, opportunity and some may say better competition. If he would have left for Grand Canyon that might be different.

I hold no ill-will against him... much the opposite I'm happy for him to be successful. But how he does in the NBA has absolutely zero to do with SDSU.

I mean he went to SDSU for 3 years so I'd say he has something to do with SDSU
