The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York "resigned" in the middle of the night last night, unbeknownst to him.
This was a hand-picked Trump appointee who Bill Barr is trying to remove from office (which is, unsurprisingly, illegal) because he was reportedly investigating Rudy Giuliani, among others. Berman has refused to leave office. A formal investigation is expected to be launched, in which Berman will testify before Congress. Hopefully, just maybe, this will lead to the impeachment of Barr and his indictment. The weaponization of an impartial Justice Department has gone on for too long.

Would Barr actually do something illegal as that? Or, is there more to it? You wouldn't think he would be so dumb as to do something this illegal. One would think there's more to it.

As much as I want to believe you are actually contemplating two candidates, you simply cannot be this naive to the issues. You just can't. It's very simple, unfortunately : Barr does whatever the president directs, because he has zero accountability to anyone. He lied under oath to Congress. He meddled in the case against Trump ally Roger Stone. Do you really think he wouldn't do something as simple as this? www.inquirer.com/news/william-barr-resign-trump-attorney-general-roger-stone-justice-department-trump-prosecutor-letter-20200217.htmlWhen TWO THOUSAND people want you to resign, is that an accident? Are they disgruntled employees, all of them? Berman was investigating Rudy Giuliani. So yes, it really is that simple.

Ryan, how else is someone going to gain knowledge and info if you don't ask questions, and look at both sides of the issues? The election is in November, and I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as possible to make the best decision for ME. I've come a long way from believing only one side no matter what, to where now I'm actually listening and absorbing BOTH sides. So, I'm asking and inquiring so I won't be naive to the issues. I'm not at my desk 24/7 and I don't have a lot of time to go on the internet for research. Because I'm an Aztec fan, and always on this site, I can kill two birds with one stone by looking at sports and politics in the same time allotment. I hope you better understand my situation now.

As with anybody else who will admit it, I am nervous about Biden. The problem with America seems to be that it may be becoming almost ungovernable. You look at a country like New Zealand which is more homogeneous and it makes you long for the "old days"..whatever that means. NZ handled their coronavirus issue relatively easily. I am pretty convinced that our sheer numbers and diversity have finally created a perfect storm of distress. When I say diversity, I dont mean people who dont look alike. I mean a crazy swinging pendulum of thought. We have more people today in the US who beleive the moon landing was faked, the Earth is flat , QONON conspiracies, far right, far left and on and on. How in the world do you govern something like that? Perhaps splitting the US into 2 or 3 countries would work. Other than that, you get the only thing that might restore order (which nobody really wants) which is a cruel dictatorship of some kind.

I am not trying to undercut you by any stretch. From my perspective, I don't need a mountain of evidence to NOT vote for Trump. As soon as he takes a stand on a platform of racism, corruption and morally reprehensible actions, he's out in my book. And I will not vote for Joe Biden, either.

Barr has been subpoenaed by the House. This should be entertaining. I couldn't agree more. My guess is that Barr, by virtue of their investigations into the origins of the Russia Hoax, has had it up to here with leadership within the DoJ pursuing their own vendettas versus looking after the interests of the people. I bet Barr's meeting with the NYC Police Officials the day of Berman's firing was determinative. The Trump Admin has the obligation and right to set priorities for the DoJ and going after any out of state organizers of the violence and destruction amid the riots in NYC/New Jersey were one of the them. Was Berman engaged with the local police in that effort? We shall soon see. And the faux outrage regarding any assumed Giuliani investigation is just that. If there was an on-going investigation of him, it doesn't stop with Berman's departure. And that Rudy reports that he was never aware of an investigation would show that there was no investigation or the investigators had nothing on him immediately (like the cases brought against Pernas/Fruman, etc). Perhaps Barr had seen Berman was having his troops trying to manufacture a crime on Rudy (ala Flynn) by way of wire taps, etc. and said enough is enough. Either way, I look forward to Barr torching them.

Aaron Zelinsky withdrew because he could see the writing on the wall. He was involved in the Flynn fiasco which has been annihilated for presenting false evidence to judges in legal documents and multiple Brady violations among a list of other malfeasance. I know you think Barr is as corrupt as the day is long, but if Aaron Zelinsky is the best they can come up with to try and take down Barr then they've got serious credibility problems in light of the recent evidence in the Flynn case. I know that you are not a lawyer and have no idea if you're even interested in this stuff but there is a Canadian lawyer who is not a right-wing guy that has been examining the evidence and breaking down the various motions in the Flynn case. He breaks down the Flynn team's Opposition to Amicus that was just ruled on. It is just under 20 minutes long but Viva Frei is entertaining to listen to and makes things easy to understand for non-lawyers. While most of the motion is targeted at judicial overreach, it does go into the recently uncovered malfeasance by Zelinsky and his buddies. Spoiler Alert: they're not good people who did things by the book. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPGxr5xKtk

The House has introduced a resolution to impeach Barr. Should anything come of this, know that it is a law enforcement officer being attacked by the party that endorses lawlessness and that is all one really needs to know about it.

The House has introduced a resolution to impeach Barr. Should anything come of this, know that it is a law enforcement officer being attacked by the party that endorses lawlessness and that is all one really needs to know about it. It's a party taking action against an AG that has no ethical boundaries and shirks his oath of office. He's used his office to serve the president, not justice. He lied under oath to Congress. He should have been removed already, if not for the blind eye of the GOP.
