Not a peep on his recruitment, that's strange since its almost July. Might be waiting until the fallout from the NBA draft in early August. This is going to be a late year when it comes to finalizing rosters, and since he's a sit-out transfer anyway there's no rush to get him on campus.

Will Wade could be on his way out and the program might not have any post season for the next few years so things could change.

Posted this in his original recruiting thread on the "Other college sports" board before finding this. He's left LSU due to "extreme homesickness" and isn't returning, and is now at home in the Long Beach area. He's a 4* talent who thus far hasn't panned out (stone hands), but is extremely athletic (7' tall; 7'7 wingspan) with a high upside.
Not sure where he sits on his clock, but believe he has 3 years of eligibility remaining. Could back up Nate next year, assuming he's granted immediate eligibility (if transfer rule isn't approved then by "moving closer to home" argument), and potentially be the guy his last 2 years.
But do question his mindset, given he left UW & now LSU. But Dutch may be able to bring the best out of him. He could be a defensive monster & rebounder with the right coaching.

But it's not like Romar has any more of a relationship with the kid than most west coast teams. He was recruited by Hopkin's & his staff. IMO it would depend on his ego. A mid-tier WCC team would make sense, but he's also someone who left UW knowing he'd get PT for LSU. He might want to stay at the P6 level, or at least at a high mid-major.

I'm happy with Demarshay being the back-up next year and then being THE MAN for the next 3.

He's got a nice hook shot, always wished Skylar would develop one when he is here. Looks like he moves pretty good for a big man.

You had me at 7'8" wingspan! Let's get this kid on the Mesa. Pretty athletic but with 'bad hands' went to UDub, then transferred to LSU. Came home for the holiday's and never returned to school. Case of home-sickness on top of little PT. I am sure he has a few good year in him left

Bryan Penn-Johnson transferred from Washington (Seattle) to LSU (Baton Rouge) to East LA City College aka "Last Chance University" If anyone can motivate and turn Johnson around it's HC Johnny Mosely.
