The election of Trump was due to his connection with independents on the subjects of illegal immigration and the error of our China trade policy. Reagan was duped in his amnesty and never obtained the enforcement he was promised, so he would agree with what Trump was trying to for immigration reform. And, while he was a free trader, he was an "America First" type if there ever was one. They both were/are National Security oriented, liked deregulation, etc. Reagan would not have a problem with Trump except in style. The issue of style is enough for the shallow, so I know where Bill Kristol is coming from but don't agree with him. |

yes, the NBA is propping up China! Thats why their economy jumped to 4.9 % the last quarter. trumps "trade war" did nothing. All China did was go to South America for meat for example. Our meat farmers got burned and are artificially being proped up by the government. Our enemployment figures are fake at 9%..does not include those out of unemployment checks and no longer looking. Yea, great stock market while tourism, restaurant and other industries shattered. We have the biggest debt in the world and are printing money like drunken sailors. 2021 will be rough, no matter who wins. ...at least thats what my financial advisor told me...but what does he know.

Had you ever travelled or spent time in the rust belt (even during what would be called the normal times of Clinton/Bush)? Even then it was bleak because of Japan. Add China's expansion to that and it is worse yet. Obama felt many of those jobs were gone for good and never coming back and there was no way to negotiate with China/Japan to bring them back and he even mocked Trump for saying he would try (such a bold leader!). So the Democrat's alternative is to surrender to China and pay for their renewable energy upgrade? But now we hear Biden promising "Buy American". Wonder where he got that idea? I agree with you that we are spending like drunken sailors. But in the political reality we have now, the only thing worse that being called a racist is being called a hateful, selfish, heartless and cruel politician that withholds funding. Fix that and we may be able to do something about it (but I won't hold my breath). |
