Oops. Philadelphia and Toronto have closed their spring training facilities for the time being out of Coronavirus concerns. San Francisco as well. Arizona and Florida are absolute nightmares right now. Arizona with another record high in hospitalizations and cases, Florida with another record high in cases. I would expect all the spring parks to be closed.

Score one for me. I think this is the end of the season though. The virus is a variabls they cannot control.

It’s on! It’s off. It’s on! It’s off.
A very odd negotiation to be sure.

MLBPA votes against the last MLB proposal 33-5. Now, It's up the Manfred and the owners to implement a short season, or shut down the season completely. If a short season is chosen, the MLBPA is bound to file a grievance, which could lead to some financial information from team owners being disclosed--at least to the MLBPA. I don't think the owners want to risk that. Manfred and the owners are now somewhat backed into a corner now.

So it appears that MLB is implementing a 60-game season, with the current playoff format in place (10 teams).
One rule change I wasn't even aware of, will start in the 2020 season (currently, this regular season only), and that is a rule regarding extra-inning games. They will use the minor league rule that puts a runner on 2nd base at the beginning of each half inning, beginning in the 10th inning. To me, this is a BS rule, as the vast majority (over 80%) of extra inning games are completed in 12 innings or less.
