Got some bad news for you - The majority of people don't share your viewpoint. And no, one season isn't going to flush anything anywhere. Manfred already addressed this recently when asked. They would take a large hit, but it wouldn't wipe out their surplus profits. It isn't the job of the baseball player to unite a country. They signed a contract to play baseball. Fine. Baseball can either ascend back to the top of the American Professional Sporting food chain (by playing now) or become as relevant as horse racing. (By waiting until....whenever)The first sport back in the public eye wins. JMO I love a day at the ballpark, I really like baseball - but for my money, give me a breezy 75 degree day at Del Mar racetrack all day long. Top 5, of my favorite things to do with friends & family. Even though I moved to TX, I have been to the races 2x in the two years since.

The owners are being completely unreasonable pricks on this one.

As expected, the owners proposal today was absolute garbage. I get that it's a first step in a negotiations process, but my goodness. Prepare for a strike next season at this rate. The Oakland A's announced today they will no longer pay minor leaguers after May 31st. Absolutely absurd.

Interesting, as I am sure long before August, Minor League Baseball will announce that their season has been canceled. Perhaps at that time, they will also announce how many affiliated teams will remain--in whatever season they play again.

Max Scherzer....is not happy. Looks like it will be quite some time before we see any MLB games. Or minor league games, for that matter.

I'm not there just yet. I'll be worried if we are in this boat by next week.

The 2020 season is in serious doubt. Players aren’t budging on their salaries and owners refuse to operate (allegedly) at a guaranteed loss. Many minor league players face being released and the continued future success of the game is in jeopardy.
I don’t think either side is going to blink.
The skies will darken, cities will riot, pestilence and plague will be visited upon the land and the people will be without professional baseball.

Jeff Passan has spoken. Baseball is coming. Not sure this solves anything. I guess we will see how the MLBPA reacts to this.

And if the players get paid for 82/162 of a full season, they should be happy, and the owners should be happy. And they had better get to work ASAP on the new CBA.

It is important that Baseball comes back as soon as possible. We can now all see what happens to society when it gets placed under virtual house arrest and there are no sporting events, music concerts, religious ceremonies, bar scene/night life, it begins to fall apart.
We need a return to normalcy, that includes baseball.
