So with the 18-24 month window on the whole ball of wax for this thing + a 70% infection rate they announced yesterday -- that basically wipes away any chance of my family attending the coming sports year. We will still pay for tickets as a show of support and reward for the athletic department, how they've done over the past several years, and the direction they are taking -- plus chip in what we were going to in terms of support for SDSU West.
I will hope they can figure out a safe and fiscally responsible way to get athletes on campus so they can compete -- and we will watch whatever broadcast they are able to cobble together. We are going to need it. We are a sports family and love our Aztecs -- but this whole thing is taking on "World War" dimensions in terms of death and economic impact.
Basically, the car has to be taken into the shop after we wrecked it -- and, yeah, that's gonna be a real pain in the ass for a good, long while -- but we will all be back in the saddle once it blows over. I'd rather adjust my outlook for that 2-year timeline and be pleasantly surprised if it only ends up being 8 months than be the guy whining that he can't drive to the beach this weekend, and next, and the next...
I'm sure sleepy meant in terms of American deaths. This wave of the virus will almost assuredly surpass the number of Americans killed in World War I.
