DeAndre Williams just committed to Memphis, hope that doesnt chnage Frank Anselem's status with his final picks. What does Evansville to Memphis have to do with Anselem to State? The idea I think Gundo is getting at is Kentucky was a finalist for Williams and in theory could get back in picture for frank. But based on rumors Kentucky backed off Deandre a bit ago and there has been no new contact reported between frank and kentucky.

He’s going to Alabama, LSU or Georgia. That was his first final three as opposed to this final three.

How is Penny Hardaway, with no prior head coaching experience, landing these top recruits at a school like Memphis?
It seems like Memphis is similar to UNLV under Dave Rice - great recruits but no team chemistry and bad coaching. Stated another way, a kid who chooses Memphis probably isn't a kid you want anyway.

It’s honestly not hard to see at all how penny is pulling top recruits. Memphis is a pretty big time college basketball school with very good facilities, they have a big rabid fanbase. Hardaway himself was in the process of being a nba superstar till his career was made shorter by injuries. That’s a big sell for recruits. You can also tell by his interviews he’s charismatic and can relate to the HS top prospects and share his experiences. Nowhere here am I saying he’s actually a good X’s and O’s guy, but there is a lot he can sell.

Come on, its a little like Tony Gywnn coaching SDSU baseball, college legend, all-star comes back to his university to headline the program. Penny's two years at Memphis nets him 43-24 64% winning % and 5th in confrence.

So far it's clear he can recruit, but I haven't evidence he can coach. And Memphis may have a rabid fan base but the city is a crime-ridden pit.

Memphis is a great city, lots of crime but Memphis in May is worth a visit. The ribs at the Rendezvous alone are worth the stop. Throw in the Rum Boogie Cafe and I will always divert 300 miles out of my way for a night on that town.

Throw in a stop at BB King’s for a drink on Beale St. Make sure you stay at the Peabody for the duck walk. Oh and a certain singer, I can’t quite remember his name, has a pretty cool compound that is worth seeing and they guy was fairly successful. What is his name?

Sure hope that we stay in the recruiting battle for Frank A
When Kentucky says that he could be a " program guy " for them usually means that he could be there for a few years as they recruit over him as he develops
they have already added an experienced transfer that hopes will be able to get waiver and play this year

See interview on May 9th, etc.

Not good for SDSU with him pushing out his decision and us talking to ETSU PG?

Not good for SDSU with him pushing out his decision and us talking to ETSU PG? It may be us getting the feeling we're not going to be the program he chooses, or it may simply be the ETSU PG is a fall back plan B? Impossible to know, but you do need to cover your bases just in case.

Kind of hard to pick us right now with the cancellation of fall classes and not knowing if we will play before January Fall classes haven't been cancelled (planned hybrid w/ in-person & online), and the plan is still to play a full season.
