Whom ever gets Morris Udeze he will sit one and play two. Don’t mean to harp on this, but it was reported again recently that it is very likely that they will remove the sit one year rule and it will start with this fall for all sports. He is likely available for the fall.

He is likely available for the fall. There have been contradictory statements on that. Rothstein reported last week it wouldn't go into effect until '22; D1 Baseball reported this year, but they've been the only one to do so. The chair said no decision has been made. All we know is it'll be discussed in 2 weeks and voted upon in 6. It's becoming more clear that roster changes and transfers will go into June and beyond.

Morris Udeze, 6-8, So., Wichita State, 4.3 ppg, 2.8 reb. The Texan was playing for the Shockers, Udeze is was choosing among Butler, Arizona State, Xavier, Minnesota and Seton Hall. But re-opened his recruitment and the Aztecs jumped in the race. It would be nice to get some size down low.

I Council meets later this month but more likely will vote at its May 20 meeting when, according to one report Friday, it would be passed with immediate implementation for the 2020-21 season.” www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2020-04-10/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-joshua-morgan-usc-mattias-markusson-loyola-marymount-lmu-transfersports.yahoo.com/major-change-to-ncaa-transfer-rules-expected-to-be-voted-on-in-may-181153806.htmlSo, true it is not a done deal, but at least 2 of the P5 want it and want it now so I am pretty sure that come the end of May it will be passed and I am pretty sure that most transfer that are already on the market as well as coaches pursuing them believe that it will pass and are acting accordingly.

Yes, one source is reporting it'd go into effect this year - D1 Baseball. NOBODY else has reported that. ESPN, Yahoo, etc. are all quoting D1 Baseball's report. The head of the committee, Steinbrecher, said they haven't gotten that far and no timeline has been decided. "D1 Baseball is reporting that the proposal is expected to pass and go into effect immediately for the 2020-21 season. However, Steinbrecher told Stadium that it is unclear when the waiver, if it passes, would go into effect." Only time will tell. We won't have an answer until late May, although we'll probably have a better feel after the meeting in 2 weeks. Right now coaches have to prepare for both, as do the players.

Seems like a solid rotation player to spell Nate at the 5, but that free throw percentage (46% for his career) needs some work!

For those who totally understand the "new transfer rule" If passed and they say it is for 2020-21 students does that mean a athlete - then be able to play at another school without sitting for the same season 2020-21 - so they would need to enter transfer portal in May / June .
Or play in 2020-21 season then transfer and play without sitting in 2021-22 ?
Would recruiting dates be changed to help coaches know how to set up their roster -

We are really going after one more transfer hard. We are maxed out on scholarships so I wonder if the coaches know that someone is leaving or if they are reaching out with the “if we have an open scholarship” line.

Would recruiting dates be changed to help coaches know how to set up their roster - The proposal would essentially mean that any transfer is treated like a grad transfer - immediately eligible. Under consideration is whether the proposal will be passed, and also when it would go into effect. I find the timing/dragging out of this to be asinine, considering there are literally a thousand + impacted students and hundreds of impacted schools trying to figure out their future on the fly with unclear guidance.

It's also over 3 weeks old, and since then 2 differing reports have come out as noted. From 247 Soprts: Francis Okoro of Oregon enters transfer portal. Stands 6'9 235 lbs, averaged 3.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game this season. Okoro was previously a member of the 2019 recruiting class, but reclassified into 2018 to enroll at Oregon early. He is the same size and years of expeirence as Udeze.
He averaged 5.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in nonconference play but saw a drop in production in Pac-12 play due in part to injury and while coping with the death of his father.

This was a week ago. Still nothing in the press about Udeze. ASU has talent, but Bobby Hurley doesnt have a true Center on the team. ST.L just signed a couple of European bigs (Germany & Sweden), and Butler has 5 front line players 6'8 and above. We have the most minutes available at this point.
Udeze appears the closest to selecting his next school as he has reported interest from Arizona State, Butler, Saint Louis and San Diego State, according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

Udeze says he will recommit you Gregg Marshall and Wichita State, so he is not transferring after all. Much to do about thing.
