www.buildingthedam.com/2020/3/31/21202332/oregon-state-basketball-beavers-offer-2020-juco-forward-maurice-calloo"Calloo began his collegiate playing career at Oklahoma State in 2018-2019, seeing action in 16 games for the Cowboys, where he averaged 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest. He was however dismissed from the team by head coach Mike Boynton after in mid-January of last season, after being accused of vandalism in the Stillwater area. Callo’s original plan was to then transfer to Cleveland State, but he spent last season at Indian Hills, where he posted 9.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game for a 30-3 team that was heading into the NJCAA National Tournament as one of the favorites to claim the title. He becomes the second recent player from the junior college ranks to be offered by the Beavers program, following Tallahassee Community College (FL) guard Tariq Silver." Offered by Oregon State - here is film as well. ...He can make a layup and dunk the ball...

Seems like a plan B option. A Big man (4/5) who can play immediately, comes from a winning Juco program. Had some vandalism issues in Stillwater; but has DI experience. Experienced GTR is more favorable. Averaged 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game at OK State and 9.1 & 3.9 at Indian Hills CC going 30-3.

Even then, think I'd rather role the dice with Joel.

Yeah, Joel has made improvements in his first two years on the Mesa, has a good shot block percentage - If he makes another leap forward he can be a decent backup center.

But after Nathan & Joel no one is over 6'7" and really 6'6" with Keshad, Mattty, Jordan, AG and now Che'. We've had a problem rebounding the ball and playing interior defense against athletic big guys.

I hope option C or D. With D1 experience, you would think that he would have dominated the City College league and teams.

If we needed someone for just 5-8 minutes a game Joel would be fine, but we could potentially need someone to start and play big minutes. That's not Joel.

Van Komen went to St Mary's over BYU; I really liked his upside as well.

Calloo is Showing up in Iowa State Blogs as an intriguing prospect since he played at Indian Hills in Ottumwa, IA. "Maurice Calloo is a 6-10 forward who was originally a three-star 2018 Oklahoma State recruit. Indian Hills head coach Hank Plona told me schools such as Oregon State, San Diego State, UConn, Maryland and Cincinnati are recruiting Calloo. He averaged 9.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 35.1% from 3-point range this season." Indian Hills CC was 30-3 this year, and a highly ranked JuCo school. indianhills.prestosports.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/bios/calloo_maurice_y5ti

Seventh in the Pac-12 last year? One NCAA appearance in the past 30 years?
Good luck to you Mr. Calloo.

Yes it seems OSU coach Wayne Tinkle, with his .389 in-conference winning percentage over six years, was too much for Calloo to resist.

Maybe he liked the school? You really have no idea why he decided on OSU. It's a really nice university and a great college town.

You have to think if Joel Mensah played at a JC he would have avg better than 9 and 4 like this kid did ... and Joel couldn’t get minutes. Aguek and Keshad are better players to have on the floor .... But Stan I know ... 4/5, 4/5, 4/5? We’ll get somebody better than this.
