Not basketball, but... One of the best College Gameday signs ever:
My Girlfriend Entered The Transfer Portal

Mostly scrubs, but some interesting moves:
UNLV: Hardy is the biggest surprise. He started more games and averaged more minutes than any other Rebel, averaged 14.5 ppg, and was third-team all MWC. (Notably, UNLV is bringing in eight new players for 2020-2021, so despite three transfers they are still one over the limit.)
NM: I'm surprised Drinnon is the only one jumping from that Drama Queen Mary sinking ship.
AF: I thought kids went to AF to become pilots, not to further their basketball careers.
Nevada: Parrish was a sought-after JC transfer who transferred under Mussleman; Alford never played him last year.
Utah St: Abel Porter started all 34 games, 5.6 ppg, and a 2-1 assist to turnover ratio.

Wasn't Porter the one wearing a heat-massage device during the MWC Tournament?

AFA also fired their coach

I thought that the AFA coach did a good job with the players that he could get.
If you used some metric like # of stars per player vs. wins, he would look very good, I suspect.

AF Walker lit us up in that 1st Tournament game. He looked really good until KJ and Seiko locked him up the entire 2nd half.
Porter knows he looked better because of Merrill, Brito and Queta. They're gone, he is too now. His coach will probably be gone too.
Drinnon won't be the only NM Lobo to leave. Caldwell is gone. Hendrix was a discipline problem and is most likely gone too. Jackson will probably go pro. And they have two starters graduating.
Hardy will get a lot of offers.

More leaving than coming in so far. Interested to see who arrives. I read that Michigan State has interest in UNLVs Hardy, local Detriot kid. Good for him.

I think kids are still acclimating to the new normal on the logistics of everything. Recruiting is a whole different experience now. It will take more time and guesswork than in the past.

Walker had to leave this year or he'd be committed to serving in the military. He's a stud who'll catch on & be very good wherever he goes.
Hardy is talking to Kentucky.
Porter needs to go somewhere that he can actually get the ball during his final year.
If you look at most conferences today the outbound is greater than the inbound, OBVIOUSLY. 90% of those in the portal haven't committed yet, and the portal is only doing to grow. Like last year, when things settle there will be just as many coming in as leaving. Plus, the MWC already has several incoming guys eligible for next year. Boise has 3 outstanding players coming in - Doutrive, Akot & Shavers. If they can keep Alston they'll be very good.

Steve Alford who recruited Grant Sherfield at UCLA, picks up the SG at Nevada. Wolf Pack reloading.

BTW, the Aztecs were looking at Grant Sherfield before he went back to Alford 4* out of high school and former UCLA/Alford commit with other major offers, including Kansas and Baylor.

If a student at Air Force starts their junior year, they are now committing to serving in the Air Force after they graduate. Those transferring probably finished their freshman or sophomore year and changed their mind about serving with the Air Force and it's time to move on.

Hardy for sure, who's being replaced by an equal if not better player in Jenkins. AJ Walker, which timing dictates as well as a coaching change. That'll hurt AF, but losing Swan/Scottie to graduation was going to tank them anyway. And hate to see Taylor leave Wyoming - he was hoped to be a backbone, along with Maldonado & Thompson. But everyone else is easily replaced, typically seeking minutes or larger roles elsewhere types of players. There will be more, I'm sure, but thus far there are more coming in than leaving. Boise alone is adding 3 outstanding players. Will be interesting to see what happens in New Mexico?
