Morgan is a big impact transfer however, extremely good and ready to be a big contributor once he is eligible. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he is our #1 target right now. When a player is that good, you almost have to just get him even if he burns a scholarship for 1 year.

But next years team is so close to being special NOW! This program really seems to be rolling in the right direction, look at the make up of the classes and how they fall. IF (big if) next years incoming class works out as planned things could get interesting for a few years.

Morgan was the Defensive Player of the Year in his conference last year. He is like Malachi Flynn was for us, he will be a huge impact player who will split minutes 50/50 with N. Mensah, and will start when N Mensah graduates.
He's already special, he doesn't need to turn into anything.
If by some miracle we get Morgan and they change the transfer rule, I think that we might be the #1 defensive team in the country. Having two elite shot blocking centers, combined with our guard play... that is the recipe for a national championship caliber team.

He has something many players do not have the ability and know how to block shots - He LIKES to play defense . Could be a very valuable person for our team for three years -

Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · Apr 5 Sources: If the NCAA votes in June to allow a one-time transfer rule with immediate eligibility, it is likely to begin during the 21-22 season.
I'd still take him just to watch he and NM on the floor at the same time.

I'd LOVE to have Morgan, but I really want a big for THIS season as insurance for Nate, & then get back into the market next year for someone to eventually follow Nate.

We are in Morgan's final four, but appears to be leaning to USC.

Joshua Morgan is a freshman transfer out of Long Beach State who has been relatively silent since he decided to leave the Big West program. One of the top shot-blockers in America, Bruner will remain on the West Coast for college. He has settled on a group of four that is Oregon, San Diego State, UCLA and USC. Most of the talk has surrounded the Trojans in recent weeks but a decision doesn't seem to be too far away, regardless. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-s-leftovers-ziaire-williams-kentucky-transfers

This is a really good battle amongst all the west coast blue bloods minus Washington.
I'm wondering if Rod Palmer was part of recruiting Joshua @ LBSU in high school (Palmer was one of our assistants for just 2018-19 and then went to UCLA.)

From the bruin report: 247sports.com/college/ucla/Article/UCLA-Bruins-Basketball-More-on-UCLA-Transfer-Target-Joshua-Morgan-145340931/"(Morgan) is a pretty good fit for UCLA -- Morgan being able to come into the program and develop for a year, both in his game and physically, and then be ready to step into a major role in 2021 if Jalen Hill and/or Cody Riley decide to leave before their redshirt senior seasons."

I watched some video of him. His offense around the rim is exceptional - NBA caliber. Defensively he is long so he can block shots, but he gets devoured on screens down low and the high screen-and-roll, both of which we teach really well. He also has poor box-out technique and is tentative to get physical. That being said, he is a great fit for every team on his list. What a tough decision.

That freshman coming in from Temecula, Mobley, may limit his time on the court. 5 STAR 100 point recruit.

They went really big on occasion this season, playing Okongwu, Racocevic & Isaiah Mobley together at times. Plus, if they don't pass the one-time transfer exemption, he can redshirt & by the time he's eligible Evan Mobley (& possibly his brother) would both be gone. It's not a bad fit. We have Nate, so it's not like he wouldn't have had to sit here as well?

For all of the **** players on the u$c roster, they greatly underperformed the Aztecs who had a whole lot less stars as recruits! Coaching?

That is five transfers for USC. How do they have that many scholarships from the basketball team? Must be placing guys on the rowing team scholarships.
