Great. Hope he hits 100 home runs. But until the NL gets the DH, we have no room on the roster for a guy like that.

Pretty comfortable with how the roster looks right now. Franmil found a fit in the AL, which is good for him.

Franmil is going to have a good season, I predict. He dropped 15-20 pounds by all reports in an attempt to be a better defensive outfielder.
I wish him well, he has a great attitude.

I will be curious to see how this trade works out for the Padres. It’s conceivable Reyes will become a 40 hr 110 rbi kind of hitter. I am also encouraged from what I’ve seen from Trammell, he does seem talented and determined.
Maybe a win for both sides.

Franmil Reyes “Spring statistics mean as much as the points awarded on an episode of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, so when I say Reyes is 12-for-27 with nine extra-base hits, only three strikeouts and a sparkling 1.631 OPS, you have to promise not to faint. His daily display of raw power in both the games and in batting practice has been a treat to watch. Yes, every player slugs home runs during batting practice, but Reyes has dented the scoreboard in right-center field enough to give it the texture of a golf ball. “I tell him all the time when he gets out of his round,” hitting coach Ty Van Burkleo said, “’They don’t hit them there. You hit them there.” “Reyes ranked in the 99th percentile in exit velocity and the 98th percentile in hard-hit percentage in 2019. Only Aaron Judge, Nelson Cruz and Miguel Sanó hit the ball harder. Reyes ranked just ahead of Christian Yelich and Josh Donaldson.” theathletic.com/1659918/2020/03/10/meisel-indians-players-who-have-caught-my-attention-this-spring/

And Reyes is still a DH, which the NL doesn't have.

So what would the trade off be for his defensive issues versus his power and run production capabilities. How many runs would he be directly or indirectly responsible for that would negate his power production?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out this season😉

Not worth it given his swing and miss issues. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out this season😉 The data is already out there. He's not going to suddenly morph into a different hitter. Power, lots of strikeouts, DH profile. He's like Javy Baez without the defensive acumen.

Whatever you say, Ryan. Do you mind, however, if I choose to wait for the final results?😉

You're free to do what you want, but clinging to former players is odd, for me. I prefer to just move on and root for the guys who are here now. That's just me though. I really like Taylor Trammell, so that sways me in the other direction as well.

Nuff of this stuff. Never know why I try to debate these things with you😳

Literally just said the exact opposite of that....You're free to be a Franimal fan. I enjoyed his time here.
