Gonzaga at BYU is a measuring stick game. They very easily could lose that game. OTOH, if they win by 10+, the argument that they are better then SDSU becomes more convincing. Right now, if you want to compare best wins, SDSU is about even with Gonzaga, meaning that they should get the nod over Gonzaga because they didn't lose at Michigan. If they win barely at BYU, then I think that you have to view these teams as equals, from the selection committee's point of view. Margin of victory in that game is huge

Also, I think that we are really hoping that Baylor sweeps Kansas, giving us the Midwest instead of the East (assuming that Gonzaga wins out). I don't think that we can drop to a two seed if we win out in the regular season.

It is going to be difficult, but this Saturday, I’ll make the smart decision. The Baylor/Kansas game may not impact our seeding, but a Baylor win moves us ahead of Kansas. I might be mistaken, but #3 in the nation would be an Aztec first.

Us and Gonzaga have both beaten 3 Top 25 teams now: Oregon @ #14 BYU @ #23 Arizona @ #24 Creighton @ #15 Iowa @ #20 BYU @ #23 Except we beat BYU on the road. Oh, and BTFW, they LOST to #28 Michigan. By 18!!!!!!!!! Nice to look in the beauty contest that is the AP, but really kind of meaningless overall. What matters is Arizona is NET #8 to Creighton's is NET #13 while Oregon is #22 to Iowa's #28. We need Creighton & Iowa to keep climbing. The committee's already shown they value Quality wins over good losses, and losing to a Quad 1 Michigan team in November isn't a bad loss. It isn't going to hurt them unless our Quality wins are on par with theirs, especially since they have more Quad 1 wins (& Upper Quad 1 wins). We need UA (&/or Oregon) to tank, and a loss or 2 by Santa Clara & Texas A&M wouldn't hurt (dropping them from Quad 2 to 3).
