Hey they just gave Nevada a scare on the road, and were tied with Boise midway through the 2nd. I fully expect a double digit lead by the half and a 15+ point victory, but stranger things have happened.

Dutch likes emptying the bench in the last 5 mins if its a comfortable lead.

Dutch likes emptying the bench in the last 5 mins if its a comfortable lead. He actually doesn’t though. He keeps the starters in longer than Fisher did.

IMO, a no bet. One is trying to predict the point differential in garbage time.
There will be much better betting opportunities this week. Like Florida -3 vs Auburn was last week.

Dutch likes emptying the bench in the last 5 mins if its a comfortable lead. It depends on the meaning of comfortable. He seems to want to maintain the 10 point mov factor built into the NET. But if they lead by 20, very likely he does what you say.

But if they lead by 20, very likely he does what you say. It’s a bit arbitrary to just keep starters in to get the MOV bonus since offensive and defensive efficiency are not limited to a certain margin of victory and we don’t know the relative importance of each metric in the NET formula. Putting the bench in hurts our offensive and defensive efficiency rating.

its getting to that time in the season where you want you top 7 rotation guys to get rest, especially if the game is already decided. 10 points 20 points it all depends on how dutch feels. this game is somewhat unique as we play tues/sun rather then the somewhat tradtional weds/sat.

Putting the bench in hurts our offensive and defensive efficiency rating. It's what he does though, regardless of efficiency. But he doesn't do it to the extent Fisher did. They put in all the subs in the last minute of the Nevada game (it would have been earlier but no game stoppage for 2 straight minutes), and Keshad Johnson single handedly damaged the team's offense efficiency. Against Wyoming, he put in the entire bench with 2 minutes left, in a 23 point game. He has also reinserted starters to maintain large leads this year. If we're winning by 20+ tomorrow, expect more than a minute from the subs.

An AZTECS win officially eliminates Wyoming from the top seed in the mwc tournament. The AZTECS would have 9 wins and Wyoming 9 losses.

I think playing Flynn should be limited in this game. We need to save his legs. Otherwise it'll affect his 3 pointers.

need a solid win at home and also need to blend in the reserves that we are going to depend on as the season proceeds
Important that Dutcher go over with Guys what is needed most from AG - Joel , Keshan or Nolan is defense , rebounding , taking care of the basketball plus passing and movement with out the ball - things they still have to learn . Offensive rebounding is another part of the game and can be important .
Also making FT's
In addition need smart play on both ends of the court from Adam and Trey - show leadership and other parts of their game besides trying to score
Would hope that Dutcher puts some of the reserves in with starters - so they get used to flow not strictly playing as second team .
After the Cowboys game - 3 crucial games - AT UNLV - it will be for first place if we beat Cowboys and UNLV beats Nevada ,then another road game AT the PIT another tough place to play . Then home against USU and if their center is back to full strength could be a very tough game . 3 games in 7 days
