They had 11 players on their roster that came from somewhere else after high school. That's some bad recruiting, except for I guess no one would go there unless they didn't have a lot of other options.

Even though they may lose some games now and we may lose a Q1 Win opportunity, I always take pleasure from New Mexico's continual trials and tribulations. Always will. Some on this board feel that way about BYU, I'm that way about the Lobos. Right there with you. BYU will always be #1 but after the TROLLobo fans' actions a few years back at the MWCT they took the #2 spot from the Rehbuls, which I never in a million years thought would happen. |

WisePies is now DreamSuite - and DreamSuite is on very shaky financial ground right now (recall that's why this year's football postseason bowel became the New Mexico Bowel and not the DreamSuite Bowel as advertised early on)

I enjoyed referring to it as the "Pie Hole" (instead of "The Pit") the last few years. We'll need to come up with another nickname for it now (and probably yet another when a new name sponsor takes over). |

reality for most MW teams and other non P6 conferences .
They can not get the top 25 HS recruits so it takes time to develop the HS players . So with the need to win as quickly as possible try to get transfers - Grad , Regular or JC . to upgrade the roster . Very similar to what Nevada did . .
We added 4 transfers this year to have experienced players . Key is blend quality HS guys and the transfers . Also not the easiest to get guys to come to some schools. Sometimes teams take a chance on guys that may not be the best character in order to win .
