For 2020, #1 ranked Gonzaga just landed 5* point guard Jalen Suggs.
Assuming all make it to campus, their 2020 class now looks like this.
PG - 5* Jalen Suggs SF - 4* Julian Strawther (Aztecs offered) G - 4* Dominic Harris

Hopefully, we see them down the road and test just how good they really are. We are 2-1 against them in our last three meetings! Plus, they reload every year. They have to to stay on Top in their conference, just like us.

Gonzaga just landed Andrew Nembhard, a 6'5" PG transfer from Florida where he was a two year starter. Reports are he chose Gonzaga over Duke, USC, Memphis, Georgetown and Stanford. He was a 5* recruit out of HS.

Had posted this in the Recruiting forum, but will delete (if I can) & copy/paste here: ________________________
This is NOT meant as a thread to trash SDSU in comparison to Gonzaga because IMO SDSU recruits as well as nearly any non-P6 school other than Gonzaga. Instead, this is just to give props to what Gonzaga has achieved, and how IMO it's a good thing that a non-major (in theory) can compete with the big boys. Gives hope, and forces the scribes to look at the P6 conferences.
Zags have a few advantages, specifically financial, that we don't have, as this is their primary sport & they can afford to actually have their own plane, along with other spiffs. Few have that level of investment in their program (anywhere).
Their haul: 1. Suggs - #10 nationally; 1 & done 6'5 PG who should be a lottery pick next year 2. Strawther - #65 nationally 3. Harris - #68 nationally
Transfers: 4. Cook - GTR; serviceable backup PG who started at S. Illinois 5. Nembhard - #2 sit out transfer; #29 recruit nationally 2 years ago who started every game at Florida (added today)
A top 10 class even without the transfers; top 5-6 with IMO. Zags have made their existence about recruiting internationally, and while Suggs is Canadian, they're moved to more of a domestic model over the past couple years.
Only Suggs is expected to have a big impact this year, with Cook & others being in reserved roles. Definitely one of the top 2-4 favorites for a national championship this year.
They have definitely risen to the levels of a "major". Hopefully we can continue to be the #1 "mid-major" out west, and eventually achieve what they've achieved. Would love to see us get another H&H with these guys, and make it a traditional battle among the top non-P6's out west.
While it may be sacrilege to say this, if someone other than us is to win the nationally title out west I hope its them, more so than a UCLA, Arizona, Oregon, etc.

Petrusev decides to turn pro back home. Hurts Zags a little, but not much as his PT was expected to actually decline. Still, few expected this.
Curious if we might see more international guys go this route given the uncertainty of college sports this year?

Unexpected, but makes a lot of sense given the COVID situation in the US
