Apparently Franchy Cordero is healthy and hitting like crazy in DR Winter Ball. Is there a place in the Padres OF for the Franchman?

www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/story/2020-01-02/padres-roster-review-franchy-cordero"-For all the time he’s spent on the injured list, Cordero’s quick-twitch athleticism is as intriguing as anything in the system outside Fernando Tatis Jr. The Padres are also no longer counting on a healthy season from Cordero as they’ve acquired the left-handed-hitting Trent Grisham to compete for a spot in the outfield alongside the likes of Tommy Pham, Wil Myers, Manuel Margot and Josh Naylor. Naturally, Cordero hit the ball off the cover this winter in the Dominican Republic (.364/.462/.576), but he’ll have to do a heck of a lot more than that this spring to earn more than a bench job."

Just cannot bank on him staying healthy.

Just cannot bank on him staying healthy. It's too bad, because he has all the talent in the world. But he's starting to look like the next Reuben Rivera.

Cordero and Bolanos to the Royals for LHP Tim Hill.
Meh

Cordero and Bolanos to the Royals for LHP Tim Hill. Meh Hill has great "progresive organization" numbers as a funky submarine left hander. It isn't a flashy return, but the Padres can't wait around forever for Franchy to not get injured. He can't stay on the field. I'm a little more upset with Bolaños.

Regarding progessive organizations, this is an example.

I like the trade.
With the 3 hitter Relief Pitcher minimum, good bullpen work will be essential.

Regarding progessive organizations, this is an example. And yet, the Royals were willing to trade the guy. Meh

Not a bad get. I took a peek, lefties only had a .186 BAA him last year, and a paltry .465 OPS.
He's not particularly strong against RH hitters (high 700's OPS allowed).
Didn't allow a single homer to a LHH, and only 4 total on the season.
I don't particularly care about unloading Bolanos, he's pitched to a mid 4's ERA throughout the farm system, and he walks too many. Allows almost 4 BB's per 9, and it would be hard for him to crack the rotation in the next few years, given the projected depth of the farm system.

Bolanos, or Hill?

Bolaños. Hill absolutely crushes lefties and had the highest soft contact rate among all relievers last year with a minimum of 30 innings.

Bolaños, cant believe we gave him up. i wonder what Hill's trade value is perceived at given his injury history.

Who cares about Bolanos? He's just another guy.
On most all Padres prospect lists that are reputable, he's behind Baez, Bednar, and Weathers even as far as organizational prospect rankings. Though, Baez is not really a "prospect" anymore I guess.
Survalli, what do you think about Baez?
