Listed at 6'10" 195 (like Jalen McDaniels, so probably more of a forward than a center). Rivals 3* out of high school. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2019/marial-mading-220814Played high school ball in Maryland, spent a year at Rhode Island, didn't play, announced his transfer this past May. Sudenese national who grew up on Australia.

If he can get up to 220 and get some lower body strength he can play center.

At Rhode Island last year he was listed at 6'10" 195. www.gorhody.com/sports/m-baskbl/2018-19/bios/mading_marial_a5a6The fact he red-shirted last year on a bad Rhode Island team means he's a project. I don't see him gaining 25 pounds and playing center. From this video it's pretty clear he's not a center: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMYbr66tUmA

Then you go after a guy like Lovering.

Quite a lot of pressure for Joel Mensah's development to really move forward this season...

Malcolm Thomas wasn’t very big either

If Calipari is interested in him as a "big man," then I'm convinced he might be good enough.

Seems unlikely we're going to get this guy based on the competition.

Move now so we don't get 12 pages of how he could play the 3,4 and 5. Needs to gain 30 lbs and grow an inch or 2 to play the 5. Or, is another Billy White...etc. Let us know where he goes and we can move on to the next one.

IMO, As long as we're recruiting him, he should stay on the boards. We're looking to add a big to the class of 2020 either by HS, Juco or Transfer. Nothing wrong about debating options and looking at our chances

I think a better course of action would be to make psots that bump and extend the thread but don’t have anything relevant in them except some mild pessimism.

Here's an interesting tidbits regarding Marial Mading. His brother Daniel Mading is currently playing basketball for UC Riverside. Will the close distance to his brother help the Aztecs in anyway?
