I hope the coaching staff reads the newspaper.
From the L.A. Times:
"San Diego State quarterback Ryan Agnew completed 23 of 31 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown even though Bruins safety Quentin Lake said he was tipping his passing plays by touching the towel on his waist before snaps."

Ooops, I see this was mentioned in a different thread. Sorry about that.

If true, he should have told his LB's that didn't see a play fake they didn't bite on. Not sure if it is true and even if true their play keys shouldn't be whether Agnew is wiping his hands or not. Sure it helps, but there are way better play keys. In any event, I am sure Horton and Morgan will see the clip and either use it to their advantage or tell him to wipe his hands on every play.

Wonder what his completion percentage would have been if UCLA hadn't known when we were going to pass?

Who cares what they knew about Agnew? The Bruins couldn't stop Agnew or Smith anyway, and he passed for almost 300 yds. in our victory!!!

All they have to do is watch the tape. IF true fix it.
I would just touch the towel every play.

Not sure why the UCLA player would say anything?

If he was touching towel every time when passing, not touching towel means running. First down run plays were mostly shut down. Interesting comments that I am sure the coaches will address. First play next week, don’t touch towel and send receiver deep.

Quentin Lake came across as a whiny loser in that interview. They asked him if he saw anything special in our qbs' play and he could not bring himself to give any credit at all to Agnew. So, without showing anything special, Ryan Agnew ripped their secondary apart over and over again. Lake attributed Agnews' success to "poor defensive alignment" by the Bruins. Poor sportsmanship and a lack of class is what that shows me.

Maybe offer him a choice; quit doing it, or do it every play. It's a damn unconscious tick. LOL So doing it every play might be easier

Possible, but I don’t think this is true...

would guess the coaches and Agnew will be watching the film and make adjustments
do hope the Aztec coaches start letting our QB 's stay in control of the game - open up the game plan - see a variety of plays on first and second down - think we ran the ball on most of the early downs - plus UCLA was going to make our QB beat them

Not sure why the UCLA player would say anything? If the Aztecs do well this year, it's makes their loss not look so bad.

If Agnew is wiping his hands on the towel that is an easy fix for the staff. I would like to see the Aztecs pass on first down every once in a while, as opposed to running off tackle every time. We are so predictable on first down it hurts our running game, need to keep the defenses honest by throwing some or at least running a miss direction play here and there.

First play next week, don’t touch towel and send receiver deep. This! With multiple receivers and timing/routes by those receivers, even knowing it's going to be a pass still leaves a lot of things to have to read on the fly. The "negative tipping" (by not wiping hand on towel) indicating a run (if this is accurate) could give a big advantage to the defense because there are far fewer potential runners, you know where they're starting from (the handoff position), and the angles through the line are limited. A much easier read for the defense. If the towel is indeed a "tell", it could be a big factor as to why our running game hasn't been particularly effective.

Oh that's tame, not anywhere near - "San Diego Stinkin State" or "Their DB's are garbage" or "It’s still a big deal for them to play us....." or on basketball transfers, "and they’re comfortable with that." We should see who can dredge up the best quotes.

Like I said it really doesn't matter if they knew a pass was coming they couldn't stop Agnew anyway. We just out played them and thats all there is too it!!!
