"...Watson plans on taking his first official visit to San Diego State in October.
“I want to see more of the campus and to get a better feel of the coaching staff,” he said. “It’s close to home. My parents and all the people around me have a really strong support system. They’d be able to come and watch me play.” Watson is also impressed by San Diego State’s history of sending players to the NBA.
“They’ve had success with guys trying to get their game to the next level,” he said. “That’s my goal: to get to the NBA. They just had one last year with Jalen McDaniels who’s going to the Hornets. That’s a player similar to me....”

Hopefully Kawhi will be working out at the JAM Center. Not sure if he can play the 5 though.

Aztecs actively recruiting Watson and have an offer out to 5-star Askew.
From Rivals: Watson was not only a quality producer on Saturday but was also the standout of the day in my eyes. Arizona State, San Diego State and Utah are just a few that have offered what will soon become a top target for the west coast programs.

USA: High majors tracking emerging 2021 wing Peyton Watson
A lot has happened for Watson over the last year. Not only did the role on his high school team – Long Beach (Calif.) Poly – change, but he also grew from 6-foot-3 in January to 6-6 at the end of July.
“Every school has prioritized me and treated me pretty well,” Watson added. “As of recently though, I’m getting the most contact from Washington, Gonzaga and Arizona State.”
Among the schools that have offered Watson are Arizona State, Utah, San Diego State, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Montana and Grand Canyon.
Watson, who is ranked No. 40 overall in the Top247, said he’s taken unofficial visits to SDSU, USC and Santa Clara.
