The line that really tells me a lot by "bruinsnation" writer Joe Piechowski is the third line in which he says..., "...to find someone credible to lead
Coach Wooden's program again." Aaaahhh, I got news for you Joe this is not Coach Wooden's program anymore. In fact, he hasn't been the coach there in over
fourty years! You and the bruinsnation really got spoiled by his success, and there has not been a coach at UCLA since that can ever come close to his
record! The way teams are in college basketball now you would be very fortunate to get a coach to take you to the Final Four more than two times! The days
of UCLA dominance are long over. Good luck finding a good new coach. They are very few and far between.

Fired for losing to Liberty. Then what do you get for losing to Brown? An extension? Ha! Rim shot! Love it. 😁

Fired for losing to Liberty. Then what do you get for losing to Brown? An extension? We already gave an extention to Dutcher during this past summer.. It was a head scratcher since other programs werent calling to take him away.. Reminds me of the current USC head football situation were you give unmerrited extentions and sets back program for years. Steve Alford was on a one year contract with a 3 mil buyout.. A booster might have walked up to UCLA ADs office and happily wrote the check after the game. Might have been done for recruiting purposes. New recruits can be fairly sure that they will be playing for the same coach they signed up for.

I sure hope Mussleman doesn't go there!...We gotta keep all the good coaches in MWC as long as we can. Its no coincidence that the drop off of the conference as a whole is during the same time window as all the good coaches leaving to bigger schools or retiring. ie. Fisher, Kruger, Miles, Shyatt, Eustachy, Alford (granted he just got fired, but he was still a good coach at UNM).
We have all these younger/newer head coaches now and the league is horrible/boring/forgetful. I hope Alford goes back to MWC and Mussleman commits to stay at Nevada for a long time a-la Porter Moser at Loyola Chicago.

I still sit here and wonder if Dutcher had a pulse during that 26-0 run by Brown whom we paid to come here and play what Dutcher thought was an exhibition game. You sat there are did nothing and watch Brown run up 26 points to your nothing. Extension Dutcher ain’t getting no fricking extension again. You were beer why SDSU athletic is bad? Look at men and women who are in charge.

Interesting thread, but not for the Aztec board.

Interesting thread, but not for the Aztec board. WLR Says the guy who just posted on it. Further, the UCLA coaching search and subsequent recruiting will have a huge impact on the MWC, as well as the Aztecs, since at least two MWC coaches (Musselman and Hutson) are viable candidates for the position. So, yeah, it's Aztec-related.

This is not only about losing games. Sounds like there was locker room problems with belittleing players.

Interesting thread, but not for the Aztec board. WLR You confuse me. This is on other Other College Conferences thread is it not? So, UCLA is in another conference is it not?

Rather, a coach good enough to coach the list of blue chip talent that express an interest in UCLA basketball every year. Maybe they would actually come. Something SDSU won't be troubled with.

Powerful boosters at UCLA have settled on a top target.... Rick Pitino. I have no words. Mussleman would probably be a great hire, but this is UCLA and they are going to want an absolute sure bet to get back into the Final Four, that’s Pitino or some other living legend. UCLA is sick of losing and the Alum$ want it fixed right now.

The salary, unfortunately for them, doesn't reflect that.
