Interesting to read "spurned ' by WSU Cougars - have there been current write ups on how he performed later in the season .? Little doubt we can use the help at DT

Exactly what we need some beef at DT.

have seen numerous reports showing him 6'1" to 6'3" and 265 to 285 lbs.
what was the size of our DL this past season ?
who was the coach who recruited him ?

This guy appears to be very good. Didn't thing WSU ever "spurned" any recruit...unless there were some issues, such as academic.

If WSU has another, and cut him loose I'm on board. SDSU usually has to grow their DT. This guy has the size coming out of high school.

For years, I've always been hoping for 300 lb DT's on the Mesa. Thank you, Santa! Oldie Out

In his senior year, Sims made 44 solo tackles, 23 assisted tackles, 9 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. On offense, he rushed 8 times for 45 yards and 3 TDs

But if that 300 pounder is a stiff I'd rather have a guy 280 who could play. We had a DT commit before (Jones?) and he never turned into anything for us. Rather have a guy like our own Jerome Haywood. Not a big guy but dude could play DT!

He wants more athletic gap shooter kind of players there.

Don't care, Leach's loss is Rocky's gain.

I think last night proved why Sims was a big get. IMO we need to sign one 280+ pound DT every year. Last year Fresno and Boise killed us at the line of scrimmage by stuffing it down our throats. Fresno did it this year and other teams saw the weakness and attacked it. The Ohio display showed we didn’t have any DL that could take on the blockers and free up the LB’s to make plays.

I hope he plays with a huge chip on his shoulder after he committed to WAZZU and they went back on their offer due to the other DT they recruited committing a day or 2 later. For the right player, that's the type of thing to motivate a guy for an entire career. I hope he's one of those dudes.

Ohio caved in entire sides of our DL. Our LBs couldn't barely get a hand on the ball carrier until he was five yards past the line of scrimmage. Need not just weight, but strength and leverage. Hope he can bring it.
