The Oracle has not provided his prose on this message board in sometime, but this commitment perked his interest to make this post. Keshad has the frame of an NBA body similar to Rudy Gay. Long arms and can potentially be fairly muscular too. The two things that stick out is that he needs to develop lower body strength. Will need to work very hard on becoming quicker and jump higher despite his long reach. Also, he won't get the dunks that are in his highlight films in college. He will need to develop a consistent outside game. His highlight reel also reminded the Oracle of a young Kawhi Leonard. Poor outside shot and mainly a low post player. The difference you could see in Kawhi was his will power to win. Hope Keshad will show his unwavering dedication to improve because he's got the physical attributes to be an NBA player......but does he have the mind and will power to be one? The Oracle has spoken. Miss you man! Don’t be a stranger. Welcome to the Mesa! His tape looks good, lots of potential

I got that everyone is all about JMcD as they should be as he is special, but I am very, very excited about Keshad amdnthink that he will be a big time player for the Aztecs.

Glad to have Keshad Johnson aboard. Early Signing. Great Summer Improvements. His AAU the Truth included Jaden Shckelford 6'3" - Alabama, Jamie Jaquez 6'7" - UCLA, Prince Gilliam 6'7" - Cincy, Jacob Eyman 6'8" - Seattle, and a guy named Ismael Cruz 6'3"- who has the Aztecs as one of his top pics. Plus 6'10" 4-star Carl Lewis from Lynwood.

Might have to catch a few of his HS games this year (maybe James Logan or Bishop O'Dowd) as San Leandro High is only a 15 minute drive for me.

According to the "early signing" thread he has signed a NLI. The star rating system is overrated. At the same point in their careers guys like Kawhi and Mitchell were still under the radar. Hell, Mitchell was signed with CS Fullerton at one point. Getting the done means KJ can concentrate on playing and his academics with no distractions this season which should boost his rating.

These days signing a NLI means nothing.
The only thing that matters is whether the kid is present on the first day of class.

It means he cannot sign with another team unless he gets a release from the university he signed with which, in this case, is SDSU. In Mitchell's case Fullerton graciously released him from his commitment (kudos to their coach on that). Now, if he has any academic issues you may have a point but I have not seen anything to that account.

All programs grant releases from NLIs - I can't think of the last one that didn't. A program gains nothing from holding a kid to his NIL. In fact, the program loses by forcing a kid to stay where he doesn't want to be.

What's your authority for that statement? Buddah Jones happened to us without a coaching change. So did Ed Chang and Matt Mitchell. The same thing happens in football, as we know. Here's a list of all the 2018 basketball decommits. I'm confident that waaay less than half are due to a coaching change. 247sports.com/Season/2018-Basketball/Decommits/

Nice! I like the 'rebound at a high rate' part.
