Only one position player. They had more pitching depth to begin with. If you want to be fair, we also called up Wick. EP was always driven by Mejia and Urias. Tbe rotation got by with some spotty performances outside of Allen and sometimes Keel. Quantrill goes tonight in the elimination game.

Well, Fresno had nearly 300 more strikeouts and surrendered 30 less homers in the same number of innings. That gives a clear indication that their staff has the greater ability to miss bats, which tends to matter. Some of that is obviously not ballpark equivalent. Lockett was the top qualified pitcher with an ERA of slightly under 5. So, it seems evident to me where the advantage lies.

Most of the staffs in the PCL had the ability to miss El Paso bats--or should I say that El Paso led the PCL in strikeouts. Quite comfortably. You give too much credit to the Fresno pitching staff.

If Fresno played El Paso every game, sure. But just look at Houston's prospect rankings. AAA for the Padres isn't exactly flush with prospects, especially on the pitching side.

El Paso leads in game 3, 2-0 in the 5th.
San Antonio in extras, after coming back from a 7 run deficit. 8-8 in the 10th.

Hope the Missions can pull it off. Great comeback. Munoz hit 103 tonight again. Quantrill spinning a gem so far...

The Missions game has been suspended. Will be completed tomorrow.
El Paso stays alive, winning 2-0.

Don't call it a comeback....San Antonio has a six run lead late. What a show of fight and determination, essentially down their ace starter.

Chihuahuas out of starting pitching. Lockett was exposed again. Still, they battled.

Missions have Tulsa right where they want them. Missions now down 2 games to none. What could be the last AA game played in San Antonio is tomorrow night.

Alas, it was not to be. The last AA game to be played in San Antonio was a loss tonight for the Missions. Swept in 3 straight by Tulsa for the Texas League title.

Just not enough pitching this series - Good to see Hudson Potts get going though.
