In Seattle the Padres Bullpen pitched the last 4 INNINGS recording 10 Ks, including 9 in a row. That tied a Padres record. Amazing how strong the bullpen is considering how many top relievers we have traded in the past 3 seasons.

The bullpen next year could feature at least three guys who touch 100 - Wingenter, Stock and Munoz. Also high 90's guys like Castillo and Strahm, if Strahm doesn't land in the rotation. I would be perfectly fine with trading Yates in the offseason, many capable guys waiting in the wings.

A few quick stats: K-O-Meter, 1523, or 2nd worst in MLB. Batting average, .235, or 28th in MLB. Runs scored, 617, or 28th in MLB. Run differential, -150, or 25th in MLB. Total wins, 66, or 25th in MLB.
No one won or lost 100 games in the NL, but 3 teams won 100+ games, AND 3 teams lost 100+ games in the AL.
41,207 K's total this season. Swing hard in case you hit it, boys.
Hopefully, the improvement begins next year for the Padres.
Arizona Fall League starts a week from today.

Well, at least the Padres only tied their record for futility in today's game versus the Cubs, striking out 19 times in a 9 inning game.

9 straight losing season also ties a franchise record FWIW. AJ Preller and Andy Green are inept.

Just based on his record Green should probably be shown the exit.
However, my opinion is from the perspective of someone who knows very little of how the clubhouse feels. If there is a vote of confidence from some of the veterans (Hosmer, Machado, Myers, Kinsler, Hedges, Yates) then perhaps he will be retained for another season.

Green will get paid through 2021 regardless, as he is signed through that year, but I don't think that Green will get much support from Myers, based on his comments about Green in 2018. I also would expect the other guys you listed to say all the right things, but if Green ends up with a 4th straight 90 loss season, I think it's pretty much a certainty that he will be fired. With the games they have left, a 90 loss season is a distinct possibility.

Based on this road trip, it would appear that the Padres are phoning in the rest of the season! Not a good sign for a manager who should be managing for his job!

Machado wearing "in preller we trust" shirt the day after Andys firing is all you need to know about how the clubhouse feels about green.
