From goaztecs.com:
"The Aztecs finished the regular season in a three-way tie for eighth place with Utah State and Air Force at 5-13. Since they went 0-3 against those teams, they will be the No. 10 seed in the Mountain West Tournament."
The Aztecs finished one game above SJSU for dead last.
Head coach Stacie Terry, in her first job as head coach anywhere, is paid $236,000 per year. She inherited a team that finished 1st in conference and won 27 games the year before she was hired.
Since being hired in 2013, the program has regressed:
2014: 9-9, 6th 2015: 8-10, 7th 2016: 6-12, 9th 2017: 6-12, 9th 2018: 5-13, 10th
Seriously, Terry is paid $20,000 per month for those results?

Exact same season record as last year. Not good!

I figure there will be a change in that program.

I figure there will be a change in that program. I agree with a coaching change. The season's low point was losing to air force twice who finished in last place in most seasons. Air force beat Utah State today and is 3-18 in conference tournaments.

Maybe they should have spent their offseason working on basketball vs being social justice warriors?

She should have been fired after her fourth year.

Great find on that website! I wonder if Terry is going to get the $15,000 bonus for National Coach of the Year?

Maybe they should have spent their offseason working on basketball vs being social justice warriors? "Some things are bigger than basketball." (Unfortunately, basketball is pretty much the reason why most of the players are in college).

I notice that the women's team give up lots of points so not much defense is being played or taught. One thing I know is that if you have a team with limited skills rebounding and defense can be used as an equalizer. Giving up 90+ points in a women's game is ridiculous and reflects directly on the coaching. The coach should be consulting a lot with coach Fisher, she seems to be over matched and under recruiting.
I've met the coach she is a very nice lady. Remember what Leo Durocher said about "nice guys". "Nice guys finish last". Bring in a Beth Burns clone so the Aztecs can have a women's program to be proud of. J.D. Wicker take note.
For the younger members, Leo Durocher was a baseball manager for NY Giants, gave Willie Mays his start. Was the Giant manager when Bobby Thomson hit a home run in the 9th inning to win the National League crown on the last game of the season from the Dodgers. The Dodgers at one time in August had a 14 game lead. This was a time in baseball when they played 154 games a season not 162 they play now. Ralph Branca was the Dodger pitcher who still lives in infamy for giving up that long ball.

All 6'2 and 6'3 but they couldn't be that formidable since I believe they were the seventh seed. But that's where they scored a ton of points.

He was also known for not tolerating the dissent among his players who opposed Jackie Robinson joining the Dodgers.

Wow, I'm so glad that others feel the way I do about the absolute destruction of women's basketball program. I use to have season tickets for both men and women. It was fun once you got use to the differences between the genders style of play. One above the rim lone below. Then Jim Sterk fired Burns. (it was Sterk not Wicker) At first I thought the firing was ....well suspect but I'm not part of the in crowd. Later it became clear that Sterk was the keeper of full blown chauvinism (he's at it again with South Carolina's Dawn Staley ..look it up). But I digress... I stayed for the women's 9-9 season, and after watching and noting that Terry had no clue how to run a team, I did not renew. That's when I kept asking Sterk why he was still putting up with such mediocre coaching. He blew me off. I did not realize at the time what a worm he was and this attitude would cost the university a lot of money. Well, that being said I was willing to hold out hope. But this year's results have done me in. I'm going to Vegas for the tourney and am sure to run into Wicker face to face. Let's see if he has balls. X

What's confrontational about asking him a question. Wow touchy .... If he can't handle the heat .... AD's are supposed to handle tough questions. I'm a taxpayer, alum, and a donor to the university ... I should have a right to know why my money is being spent so foolishly. The women's team doesn't have to win everything but they don't have to be an embarrassment either. ps: there is an "n" missing.

That was what I meant about "confrontational" with an "n." Your choice obviously. Talk about touchy😮

I just found the article from when she was hired...it looks like it was a 5-year deal which means her contract is now done (unless she got extended). Anyone confirm? I would guess that the university wouldn't want the extra expense that'd come with firing her early.
