My assessment
The Good--Closing the season with 6 straight wins, playing our best at the end of the season, beating 2 top 25 teams, the emergence of the 3 freshmen, the improved play of Narain, some good games from Montana and Rooks (actually the last game for the later), Watson at point guard.
The Bad--losing to Cal and Washington state, too many long periods of poor shooting, giving up leads in the last few minutes.
The Ugly-- 8pm starts on weekdays, 8pm starts on Saturday, attendance fall off, too many really weak teams in the MW. Oh, BTW, did I mention 8pm starts.
Anything I missed? I'm sure there is.

I will take 8pm starts on TV over earlier start times and on ESPN3 any day.

Since our basketball season is not over yet don't you think that this thread could have been delayed for a week, or maybe longer?
There may be more info to add which has not happened yet.

Watson should actually not be in the "good" for point guard skills. He can create his own offense, which was indeed good, but can't facilitate others. The ugly? Injuries and illnesses for Kell, Malik.
And yes, this thread is probably a couple of weeks early.

I will take 8pm starts on TV over earlier start times and on ESPN3 any day. People who like to go to the games might have a different take. I can’t consistently make it when the game is that late. Ended up not using my tickets on many of the 8PM starts.

Ended up not using my tickets on many of the 8PM starts. I live in Orange County and love 8 pm weekday games. I am moving back. 7 pm is better. It is only an hour either way, as long as I can make the tip-off.

The good, the way the team played when they were a complete team (no missing players or less than 100% Kell or Pope), Gonzaga win, winning streak to close the regular season.
The bad, the unfortunate losses we suffered when we lost Pope or Kell for a game or extended period of time or when they were playing at less than 100%. If they both stay healthy, I believe we win at least 5 of 7 of the following losses (WSU, Cal, @ Wyoming, @bsu, Fresno St, @unm, @unlv).
The ugly, 3 consecutive mid-conference losses by 4 points or less.
If we win 5 of those 7 games, we significantly reduce bad losses and have a record or 24-6 before conference tournament and are a strong bubble team or possibly at large team with the Gonzaga win.
This team is good enough to sweep the conference tournament and make a run in the NCAA tournament, or bad enough to lose in the first round on Thursday, especially considering the trouble we have had with Fresno State. They are truly a mystery. I hope they finish off the season with an amazing run and we can look back on this team as a great one. You never know what can happen in March.

I would have said we would have likely won 5 to 8 of our losses is Kell and Pope had been healthy during those games. Close enough. We'd also have the win against #21 Nevada to support an at large bid.

The statement in bold is indicative of a LOT of teams this year - There are very few elite teams across the college landscape and an extreme amount of inconsistent results this year. St. Mary's struggled to barely beat a 6 win Pepperdine team the first round of the WCC tournament. Northern Kentucky, the number 1 seed in the Horizon Conference, lost to a pathetic Cleveland State team in the quarterfinals. This has been one of the most topsy-turvy seasons I can remember in recent history. Would it surprise anyone if the winner of the 8/9 game, if it's UNLV, beat Nevada? Anything can happen in a one and done, tournament style setting.

Interesting comment considering how many times the aztecs-rebels have played in the men's conference tournament. The aztecs must focus on beating Fresno first.

The Bad: CBS Sports and thier crappy scheduling with games before SDSU don't end on time! Well, I agree with you that I don't like what has happened, but you know there is no way they can determine how long a game will last with OT's added. That can happen to anybody at any time. It is not CBS Sports fault. They have to keep the schedule going, and can't have big gaps between games, or what would you suggest they fill it with? Unfortunately, that is just the way TV sports programming goes, and there is nothing that can be done about it. (Hope that the previous game does not go into OT)

When there is a lopsided game in progress they should go to a split screen showing the current game and the game in progress.
