I would be happy with an NIT berth. It's unfortunate we'd be in the bottom half though as that means probably no home games. I went to the IUPUI game two years ago and that was a blast. And don't forget about the last time we were in the NIT before that...

The ESPN play by play and color stopped talking and just took it all in.

The ipfw game was noteworthy for Shepard's "triple double" and the end of selling out viejas arena.

getting into NIT would help the program and recruiting but do Not think it is a lock to get in - going to need winS in MW T to move ahead of other MW teams or others
Did San Jose State win the other night ?

Surrounding our 6 straight NCAA appearance were 2 #1 seeds in the NIT. those 6 home games were some of the best home games ever.

Beating St. Mary's led by Patrick Mills tops my list for home post season wins. Then came the fans storming the court to earn the nit semi-final bid.

My ears rang for a long time after that game.

The comeback against New Mexico was the best because of whom it was against and how they did it. They did it with the zone for God's sake! And Polee was incredible at the point of it. Neal totally choked coaching that game. Man, was that fun!!!!

That game is on my top 5 in-person in ANY sport, along side: game 2 of 84 world series, 94 Sharks beating Red Wings, 2002 MWCT final and Jimmer MWCT final.

And don't forget about the last time we were in the NIT before that... Let's say we win every game but the conference final, giving us a record of 22-11 or so. Do you think that would get us up to a level of hosting an NIT game? In other words, could we create a binary that is NCCA berth or NIT hosted game?

The most optimistic brackets have us as a high 6th. But there are lots of teams ahead of us that could lose early in their conference tournaments to lousy teams; Western Kentucky, UCF, Temple, OK State, Old Dominion, LSU, Washington and a couple more. Most brackets have Boise State as a #1, #2 or #3. If we win 8 in a row and lose in a close Conference final, I think we would have a chance to get into a #4 slot.
