Got to go to the soft opening for the Eureka on SDSU's campus. The food is great and I am so bummed we didn't have a bar like this while I was a student here two years ago (sorry Oggies). Hopefully this can become the new hangout for all SDSU away games. That is all.

In the new South Campus Village (or whatever they're calling it). On College Ave right next to campus (Hardy Ave). It's the first place you hit (after the transit circle) as you walk south from campus from the new Prebys Aztec Student Union. I had to be on campus yesterday morning and talked a few of their workers on the way in before lunch. They're ready to go.

I'd love to see it...you should be bummed that you missed out on Monty's/Louies. $6 pitchers (at least when I was there) and an outdoor patio that faces where others walk by so you can invite them over. I guess I am an old man now, but I would not have enjoyed the anesthetized feel of the new campus as much.

Yes, the annual early semester ritual was to check out the new freshman talent walking across the pedestrian bridge.

Its the "Max" roast beef or nothing (it's not called the "half-pound sandwich), and curly fries. They did, however, lose points with me when they discontinued the chocolate turnovers.

I watched a few Aztec road games there but mostly spent my time there during school hours and missed quite a few classes (priorities!!) and even attended classes feeling numb...some of my best work those days (kids, don't try this today, it may be taboo).

This place is awesome. Took the family there last night. I had to pinch myself because I just couldn't believe such a great venue, huge space, full bar, and excellent food was just a football toss away from the new student union center. Can't wait for hoops games.

In my days at SDSU, it was Two Bits. 25 cents for a beer.

In my days at SDSU, it was Two Bits. 25 cents for a beer. Hence my screen name...looks like Eureka! will be just about on top of the sacred Two Bits location. I don't remember 25 cent beers but do recollect $3.75 60 oz pitchers in the late 80's from Frank and crew.

Dang, that looks amazing. Probably a good thing its a little further away from the main campus than previous bars- for the sake of current students.

That place looks pretty nice, possibly a little too nice. In my day we spent pre-21 nights at the Oasis drinking $2 pitchers. Our 20 year old roommate was the bouncer. After 21 it was always Effins. I loved that place back in the day.
