SDSU is better than CSU and pretty much the same as Boise.

think the 1970's Aztecs men's volleyball team winning the national championship, the 1969 mets, 87 twins and miracles on ice, the 1994 women's world cup soccer team they all win titles. I believe Aztecs football are good enough to win the national title in the 2017 season. look at the las vegas bowl as proof, kevin falconer, this was a great vote the good decision by an sdsu grad for voting against the soccer stadiun but rejoice at the possibility of a stadium like penn state, ohio state , Michigan , (ROSE BOWL on January 1, 2018 against ohio state). the 100,000+ seat stadium will be built at the qualcomn stadium site. WE THE AZTEC NATION WILL ROCK THIS COUNTRY.

No, I did make a mistake, because Athlon is based out of Tennessee not 'Bama. But, very little difference on perspective with them. It is Lindy's magazine which is based in 'Bama, so, about the same. When I said 'Ol Miss' I was really referring to the river not the SEC school. Shouldn't have done that as I realize it can be misconstrued.

Don't they always rank us low...in the 60's or 70's every year, regardless of us piling up the wins?
Me thinks the only thing they remember is if a G5 team beats a P5 team. That is the totality of their measurements, even if it happened years and years ago.

See the only valid pub prognosticator - Phil Steele which has us #41 with CSU 43, Bosie 45. Much more logic that -- for now.

"Fat Boy?" Pffff where did that originate? I think 8-4 hope for better but will stick with AF1's call...

His grade school buddies......it was "Fat Man" and I adopted it, but used artistic license to change it to "Fat Boy." Been my nickname for him since as long as I could get away with it (probably circa 1998). What are the four or five losses that you see? I only see four possible losses (ASU, Stanford, BSU, Hawaii), and think two of them (BSU and ASU) are unlikely.

The new OL must scare some folks more than others.
They think the cupboard is bare and we're back to rebuilding mode.

If Boy Scouts means the Air Force Academy, consider this: Rocky is 7-0 against the AFA as an Aztec DC/HC, and AFA only has one starter returning on Defense.

AF is/are Boy Scouts. PJ's & Combat Engineers excluded. Also they have a JV program that plays with the same scheme. They will reload, my concern is we play them early in the season before injuries take a toll on their depth...

While both SDSU and BSU are pretty young, especially on the lines, CSU is pretty experienced and are toward their high point while SDSU and BSU may be off just a little from last year.

Let's resonantly assume we are 1-2 going to zoomie land 9-23 . ( when Fanhood reads this he'll be pissed). So, we all assume AF is young, small, slow , Rocky owns them, we are better, yada yada. History tells us you do not blow them out there. I see an even 4th gtr. decided game - as per usual. Win and we are launched for the conf . season .Lets hope our maturing, but very young OL is ready to dominate by game 4. We will know so much more by the third week of August.

Midway through the second qtr, we will be winning 10-7, but won't be playing well. You will call me at Half-Time flipping out saying "we are going to lose, we look horrible.........." I will laugh, and say "relax." We will crush them. Final score 31-10.

I am worried about the line as well... A couple of years ago I think we would have struggles to a 7-5 or similar record, but now I think we have moved to a new level of recruitment and program development. One where we are able to reload more readily than before. According to ESPN FPI we will only be an underdog in two games. My guess is that we will be at least 9-3.

Don't let a team beat you twice, in this case the loss to UW killed SDSU in the prep and energy level against CSU. If we had made the two point conversion against Wyoming then I am sure the CAU game would have been very different.

They had a huge letdown game coming off the win (crushed by NM), so it's very possible we would have as well. The motivation for the game would have been the same - hosting, and that wasn't enough to overcome the emotional letdown.

Alabama? I'm surprised they can actually pull their heads out of Saban's arse long enough to look for the west coast of the USA!! ] They do look west of Alabama. When you lose two years in a row to South Alabama expectation for SDSU is very low. Plus we lost one of our best running backs of all time. Would not be surprise if Wyoming also ended up being in front of us. Their QB is a legit 1st rd pick. After predicting 12-0 last year I will go out on a limp and say we end up with a 8-4 record this year. Too much experience left our team. We will lose to Stanford, ASU, Boise, and the Rocky yearly special to New Mexico.
