I just found out SDSU has secured one billion dollars in donations and will be securing land in MV as well as financing a new stadium. I got that information from my mother who's been dead for nineteen years. I also got yet another "alumni update" today that says the same thing the previous one said. I'm getting tired of howling at the wind. I call out administrators, I call out people on this board and I get dick. There has not been, and until shown otherwise, will be, any cogent business plan that will allow Aztec football beyond a soccer stadium, assuming one is built. If not, all we have is the message that so boldly predicts, "our football team will have a place to play". Comforting. Put up or shut up. Smearing the FS group with no alternative plan, except "maybe the next group will be nice to us", isn't going to make it happen. To quote Henry the Chickenhawk, "HUBBA, HUBBA, HUBBA"! Feel better? You sure accomplished a lot there. For me, I accomplished more than anyone from this board, the university or the city has accomplished. Once again, this topic gives me a good laugh...  |

It would be nice if someone from the university would grow some balls and work with the area to come up with a master plan with financial backing. There is enough money in San Diego that we should have something that we are proud of that its a first class facility where soccer, football, and any special events around the size of 40K. This one. Unfortunately, you're talking about San Diego. Over the course of some six decades the city has allowed two NBA and one NFL team to fly the coop. This city, from a sports standpoint, has as much of a future as coal. While trying to secure a MLS team, it can only hope to hold on to what it currently has, (still no long term solution regarding a future venue for Aztec football). But here's the rub. There's all kinds of money in San Diego. But maybe just not the kind that would be interested in keeping those on this board happy.  |

I wouldn't expect a major announcement until after Monday. I don't think you want to be associated in any way to the SoccerCity vote or perceived to be the reason it got pushed over the edge when its already going off the cliff.

I think Monday is still very premature. I doubt it will even happen in June |
