I've been heads down in work Monday and Tuesday and didn't have time and bandwidth to watch and read all the press on Fisher's retirement, but after catching up today it is no surprised that Fisher continues to be a near perfect model of class, leadership, and perhaps most importantly a teacher. Without a doubt his goal and priority has always been to mold these young men into adults.
I transferred to SDSU and while I only spent two years at state, I immediately felt a sense of connection to the basketball program and quite honestly became fascinated with the game of college basketball. I consider my years there the start of what has become the glory Aztec years with a bright future ahead. I was there to watch Manker, Walton, Heath, Abukar, and Slaughter as a student and continued to attend games with Wade, Kawhi, DJ, J Frank, X, Pope. My love affair with college basketball was rooted with Fisher and only continues to grow stronger.
I went to Vegas for countless tournaments.... I watched from Maui at the classic. I streamed Aztec games from Germany, Prague, Sweden and halfway around the world at 3am. I am an Aztec for life because of you.
Thank you Steve Fisher.
"Take time to enjoy the journey."

Thank you for everything you have done for San Diego State Coach Fisher.
You are a class act, a winner and will definitely be a legend on Montezuma Mesa forever.

I sent a short Thank You Email to Steve Fisher, and congratulated him on the job he did while HC here at San Diego State. Also wished him and Angie a good time on their trip to Florida. He sent me back a very considerate Thank You, and appreciated what I said. Shows you that he is all class, and a very fine person.
