Article says Chapman will not be able to practice during Spring Ball ? When can the former Rutgers QB start practicing with the team ?In the article says he was 48% completion rate during his senior year and got benched for not being affective .? Rutgers was 2-10 last year in the BIG a P5 conference with quality teams .
Who are the QB's for Spring Ball . Agnew and ? Is it make it or break it for Agnew ?

thought some said he was on campus . What contact can he have with the coaches , get play book ? ..... Work outs he can participate in ? He can participate in team activities, whatever they entail at the time, once he starts taking classes, so at this point its primarily weights & then I'm sure they'll run skelly's during the summer. As of Tuesday night Rocky couldn't mention his name because he hadn't started a class yet, but maybe he did Weds/Thurs?

I thought there was talk that we were waiting on a stud transfer that Rocky couldn't name that was from a P5 school, after Laviano had been announced. True/false?

I thought there was talk that we were waiting on a stud transfer that Rocky couldn't name that was from a P5 school, after Laviano had been announced. True/false? Laviano is from a P5 school. You can't talk about ANY transfer until they're officially on campus. Plus, there's no reason to seek out 2 grad transfer QB's - it'd only the stunt the growth of Agnew and Chapman, and 1 wouldn't come here with the intent to not only compete with Chapman but another grad transfer. I pretty sure he was referring to Laviano.

This wasn't a grad transfer situation, but again, I could be wrong - There was another thread on the board that referenced it.

This wasn't a grad transfer situation, but again, I could be wrong - There was another thread on the board that referenced it. Haven't heard 1 word about anyone else. Laviano's the one who said he was going to transfer here back in February; today it's just official. If there's another transfer, that's cool, but seems odd. We already have 5 QB's on scholarship when you include the 2 FR coming in, and I know they like both Roane & Salazar, and you have Chapman for '18 & Agnew thru '19. Believe Laviano makes it 6 - 1 SR, 1 RS JR, 1 RS SO, 1 RS FR (Boudreau) & 2 FR. That's a lot of players. The 1 kid (Boudreau?) who moved over in the spring may move back to Punter or another position though, but still seems odd they'd squeeze in another?

Article in UT = 5/26/17 . His transfer had been rumored for months , is now official . Listed as 6'2" to 6'3" weighing 210 to 220 . Chris had visited( from Rutgers of the BIG a P5 Conference ) early Spring - when Rutgers let him know that he was not in their plans for Fall 2017 team . He graduated couple weeks ago . He had a good 2015 but then lost the starting QB position about half way through 2016 season . . Rocky said during the Spring that SDSU would be adding a grad transfer for the fall but could not comment until the player was officially registered at SDSU .
Chris and his father arrived over the weekend . Spent time seeing San Diego . SS classes started Monday . When asked what he could contribute to the Aztecs . Some good standard answers . Looking forward to be able to contribute any way he can . Nothing was promised him other then the opportunity to compete for the QB job . He was looking for an offense where could get back under center and play again or at least contribute. He can bring the experience of playing in the BIG . Competition is good and brings out the best in all . He says he is focused on playing football . Competing and grinding this summer . Heading toward fall practices .
Aztecs have 5 QB's Chapman , Laviano , Agnew , and the 2 HS recruits at QB . So it would seem Boudreau ( sp) will go back to his punting duties . He was shifted during the spring - since Chapman was hurt and we only had Agnew as a QB .

Unless Cam Roane is the second coming of Johnny Manziel, I think this guy Laviano is the starter for at least part of this year. I saw him play a few times, he has a very accurate delivery and can make some athletic plays outside the pocket. Nothing against Chapman or Agnew, but I think Laviano is just a more talented player.

Hopefully Chapman is really good and is the starter all year.

A lot depends on how Chapman's thumb injury is coming along. From the bit of tape of Laviano I have seen it seems he has a stronger arm.

Laviano = Insurance at QB (unless he spikes the ball on 4th down)
We're very young and inexperienced.
Oldie Out

Competition Chapman , Laviano and Agnew to improve them all . Best guy wins but there are back ups . Plus the freshman red shirt . Key also is the play of the OL . Every team will load the box to limit our running , and try to make our QB be the deciding factor . If the newer OL can dominate or neutralize then our skill players can make things . Stay out of third and long/ penalties . If not then does not matter who the QB is .
