Only thing they want is to get their faces on TV and they don't give a rat's ass about football. =Bob What do you want? Should the Show bring the faces to football games and distract the other team during field goals??

yeah...I like the Wisconsin 4th quarter tradition...but we should all get down and boogie Carlton Banks-style to Tom Jones's "It's not unusual...": That. Would be. Amazing.

Do you even attend hoops games? Be honest.

The Show sucks. The Show is only interested in how many times they can get their faces on TV at B-Ball games. Screw The Show. Only thing they want is to get their faces on TV and they don't give a rat's ass about football. =Bob This same Show that's making the road trip to Cal? That Show? The same Show that lead the way at The Pyramid tonight? That Show? Nice job, Crankapotomus!

Bob's got to be kidding. Or maybe he's pissed that he missed out on the 50% off at the All American Grill tonight cause the Aztecs lost by less than a touchdown. His burger would have only been $4.50!

The Show has given more to this university than your uninvited diatribes or your brat-grilling. Remind me to find that short pier to walk off if I'm ever able to be as bitter and insignificant as you have come across as you just did. With that statement you have become pathetic beyond ridicule. Your life must truly suck. Sad.

The Show rocks. Who cares if there is one person on the planet earth that does not think so? You guys have made Viejas arena a big time college atmosphere. I have been to lots of university arenas and NCAA tournaments. Our student section is among the best I have ever seen. Plus the Show is downright entertaining for the rest of us fans. I can't tell you how many times the people in my row have laughed our butts off at some of the things the Show has done. My favorites are rat boy, reading the paper when the other team is introduced, the big heads, the BYU biker uniforms, and the Gecko ride to the top of the arena.

I think Bob is crazy, but in there somewhere is some truth.
Here's my perspective: The Show is a product of a dynamic improving program in a relatively close environment. If the team had sucked for the last 8 years, its likely that The Show would be a fraction of what it is currently. The Show is a byproduct, not vice-versa.
The Show is highly entertaining, sometimes hilarious, and occasionally goes beyond the bounds of good taste (but don't we all, do so every once in a while?).
I think its time for The Show at Viejas to take it to a new level. There needs to be a way for all the energy and creativity that they have to spread throughout the Viejas Arena. It reminds me of a good church that serves its members well, but doesn't "reach out" to the community that it is located in. Perhaps The Show needs to lead the entire Viejas crowd in cheers once or twice per game. Or maybe The Show needs to go into the non-student sections occasionally to share their enthusiasm.
Transitioning The Show into a major presence at The Q requires some effort, planning and strategy. What about some bleachers exclusively for The Show being erected right behind one of the two goal posts. I can't remember whether end zone bleachers exist for Aztec games.
The flip side to Bob's disgust with The Shows efforts at the football games is that the "Old Farts/long time season ticket holders" are often quietly sitting on their hands during much of the game.
Now long time season ticket holders are vital to any collegiate program. They're loyal, passionate (in their own way), and an important group that can be "harvested" for donations. But the football game atmosphere needs to be energized. How about 100% of the crowd being in red and/or black!? Maybe some "pressure" applied by Coach Hoke for 100% red might help. True old-fashioned "Leaders of Cheers" (not cheerleaders/dancers) can be powerful and a great at unifying a crowd.
It can be done. Although a winning team is absolutely the most important factor.
What a great year to be an Aztec sports fan!
Go Aztecs!

I started this thread for fun. I think The Show is outstanding. Worth the price of admission to basketball games. When I was a student, we NEVER had anything close to that kind of fanatacism at games. Bravo to the show. And if they've become big enough that people want to put them on TV, then go for it. Clearly, the same type of antics won't work at football games. A coordinated effort from the students would be great. But it's just completely different than basketball games.
For the record, the Roller Coaster one would be awesome while the other team is shooting free throws across the court.

Do you think Duke would have the crazies if duke was a .500 team every year.

I agree its "obvious", but I think that members of The Show don't always grasp that or remember the "humble beginnings".
Unlike their handle indicates, there is no "Show" without great athletic players WINNING!
But please don't interpret this to mean that I don't love and appreciate The Show.

It's all good and well that people on here hate on us. The fact is the athletic department loves us and is very thankful for what we do. And 100% of the time our response to their gratitude is "We love what we do, thank YOU for letting us have so much fun."
As far as our presence at football games.. we are at every game.. but show me one other student section in the entire country that has the same identity for football and basketball.. Do you think the Cameron Crazies have their section at Duke football games? Also, for as much fun as we have. It's a lot of work. And so we do what we can but like bukeyedad said, we are what we are in basketball because of the success of the basketball team. We can't exactly heard fans into the gates of Qualcomm. We didn't even start drawing consistent fans in hoops until the year AFTER we won the MWC Championship.
As far as unifying the whole arena. We're working on it.

Good luck TecPride on the unifying efforts. Its a difficult task. But a year like the one we're embarking on is exactly what is needed as a catalyst.
BTW, I think there's only one person on here who has expressed any "hate" on The Show.
Be energetic, be positive, be creative, be clever.

However, I agree (and wish) they would do a bit more at FBall games! Not sure why they can't get together and do more "cheerleading" at Fball games! I seriously had to check the date/time stamp on this post - I thought I'd pulled up a thread from last year... Talk about Deja' Vu...

Speaking as another representative of the old farts (more from the canardly, rather than the cannever division) - I'm thankful that we have a group of students and fans who care enough to show up, be obnoxious and create a unique home court advantage. Hell, there are times I wish I could join you, but I'm just old enough that I'd get some really strange looks if I did. I know that there are a large contingent of the Aztec fan base who don't/can't stand up at games and make noise. The Show speaks (shouts?) for those fans who can't or won't shout for themselves.
Haters gonna hate, and some people aren't ever going to understand - but VIVA EL SHOW!

Answer the question? because they are a bunch of prima donnas who care about only one thing, themselves. They know that they can parlay this exposure into their own Reality Show on the Mtn as soon as BYU and Utah leave. From there, fame and fortune will be only steps away. If they truly cared about this school, they would show up at all events, most importantly Women's golf tournaments. How these pretentious fools can not show any respect to this most important of all of our teams is unfathomable. Lynch them all on the crossbar of the goalposts this saturday, and then bury them beneath the bleachers of Peterson Gym, so their souls will remember where this program started. Good Day

How about during the starting line ups say:
D.J. D.J. D.J. Bil-ly Bil-ly Bil-ly Mal-colm Mal-colm Mal-colm Tap-ley Tap-ley Tap-ley Kah-wi Kah-wi Kah-wi
Or when the bench comes in: Ra-hon Ra-hon Ra-hon Car-well Car-well Car-well Shel-ton Shel-ton Shel-ton
Just an idea
