He could be a viable option at the 5 . Very athletic , can run the court , score near the basket , and least we forget a shot blocker on D .

I hope he sees the potential playing time here and is interested. Scout has him as a four star, not that that really matters...

There are only about 10 five star recruits in the top 25 that play the 5/4 position . At least 2 or 3 have made verbals , and not to the very highly rated schools . So major battles there . Maybe 15 , four star between 25 and 100 . So there is going to be strong competition for guys that are able to play the 5/4 position . There are no secrets as the guys are playing most weekends of the July Evaluations , not many guys that play the 5/4 and so they get noticed and recruited by a wide assortment of schools . Will see who coaches can line up for visits .

UCONN pursing hard on him, this from Husky Hoops‏ today.
"UConn pursuing 2017 PF/C Bourama Sidibe of Newark; 6'10" 225, proven rim protector, finishes around basket. Holds several high-major offers."
Holds offers from UCONN, Maryland, Seton Hall, Syracuse, WVA, OK, OSU, Texas, SMU, Texas Tech, Rutgers , VCU, among many others.
not sure if there is a connection with him aside we need to land a big in 2017.

Coaches have made an offer to Sidibe. As have other schools . Evaluation weekends continue through July . Would guess our coaches have been there watching him .Then it becomes a question if He chooses to visit . Since he is from East area would guess it may need to be an official visit ?

I would think coming from the East Coast San Diego would look pretty good.

Bourama is originally from Mali , attending HS in NJ . do not know where his family is living- our coaches usually do well with family visits .? As with every recruit - not easy to predict what the priorities are for College .? He has decent assortment of offers from New England , South , Midwest , Texas , ASU and SDSU ..... and list could expand . Will be very interesting to see what visits he lines up . Do concur there are not that many quality guys that play the 5 from the West area in the group we usually go after , guys rated 25-150 . Ayton and McCoy are from the West but as of today not sure we are a high priority on their lists ?

Wow, those are some impressive YouTube highlights. The question is...Yes he can block shots and protect the rim, but will he put the work in to develop the other facets of his game?
