What if his father is out of the picture? What if Johnson's best friend through AAU plays at UTEP? what if you stopped looking through your red and black colored glasses and realized recruitment is a complex Process with dozens of variables to consider from prospect to prospect? Oops, sorry. I didn't realize Ned4 was a member of the Show who you are thereby compelled via blood oath to side with in every debate. We disagree all the time with far more aggressive language on our own board. The fact is he's right and you're wrong. Sorry that's damaging toward your ego.

If every potential recruit used our reasoning we would have 20 national championships. Unfortunately the natural beauty of the city only goes so far. Things like tradition, winning and exposure are things that some may consider. I don't disagree with you in the slightest about that. However, although that logic certainly applies to the UCLAs of the world, we're talking about UTEP. UTEP tradition? Well, as Texas Western they won the NCAA title in 1966 or thereabouts and they've won probably a dozen NCAA games since, but that's been a long time ago. Winning? Yeah, they won 26 games last year but who did they beat? CUSA has how many good programs besides Memphis? None that I'm aware of.

You mean to tell me the Show guys have your own board? Hmmm. As to the latter thought, I've already conceded he made some good points. If you sense that was ego damaging to me, that's perfectly fine with me. All I was doing was debating the point, which unlike you, I think IS debatable.

We can go back and forth debating pros and cons about each school but the fact is you were trying to argue that coming to sdsu is the obvious correct call and a recruit choosing utep over us is silly. We're saying it's more complicated than that. There is no debate.

Despite Floyd's issues at USC he still is a good coach and was a HC in the League. I'll leave it at that.

Yes, UTEP. The team that went 26-7 and won the CUSA regular season championship. The team that was in the top 25 last year. The team that went to the dance just like we did. The team that has a higher home attendance than we do. The team that had a player drafted by the Lakers. The team that now has Tim Floyd as HC. Might want to look beyond the Mountain West bubble that a lot of you live in. They were as good, if not better than us last year. You make some excellent points. Still, the kid we're talking about lives in a suburb of L.A. and the school Floyd coaches at is not only a couple hours away by plane, it's located in El Armpit, one of the ugliest cities I've ever seen. Further, unlike many schools SDSU competes against for recruits, it isn't known to be an academic powerhouse. Bottom line is that if all the young man cares about is basketball, MAYBE he would choose UTEP over SDSU or UNLV. Since I suspect he cares about other things as well, I think UTEP is going to be merely his third choice. I don't care how good the team is, when choosing between living in San Diego, Las Vegas or El Paso its no real choice. Then again, Flood is sooo dirty. I also agree that clearly things are more complicated then we'll ever know.

Based on what happened at Michigan, Fish has been squeeky clean at SDSU. Wouldn't you think that considering the fiasco with O.J. Mayo that Floyd would have to do the same at UTEP?

I didn't know they had one. Are we all invited to join this board? Yeah, right. Just for the main Show guys. Sorry. It's mostly a bunch of inside jokes anyway.

SGF, that's a fair question. But unfortunately there are more examples of Kelvin Sampson' and John Calipari out there who the dirt follows them, then of those of Steve Fishers who run clean programs going forward.
