No way! The MWC is the 11th-best conference in the nation for basketball, so we gotta stay . Your posts are terrible Terrible enough to warrant a response, I suppose.

The fact there is no Boise this year, or last year for that matter is a bit curious. The two best teams in the conference don't face each other two years in a row? I usually give the MWC the benefit of the doubt, but this is idiotic. Can you imagine Ohio St. not facing Mich St. two years in a row? Alabama v LSU?
Small time conference. Win out and make the case for a P5 spot.

Or like Wisconsin and Ohio State not playing at least every other year. Again, they don't. Well, at least Alabama and Georgia play at least every other year. Oh, they don't, my bad. ☺

Don't complain about the home schedule. You win and fans will come.
Looking forward to early March when dates get announced. Looking to go to Laramie or Reno depending on how late in the year they are. Already have everything set for Mobile.

Win out and make the case for a P5 spot. Not really. It was predetermined 3 years ago. Everyone plays everyone else in their own division home & away yearly, and then plays each team in the other division once both home & away over 4 years. We played BSU H/A in 2013/2014, so we wouldn't play them in 2015/2016.
We'll most likely play them home/away in 2017/2018, although technically they could switch it up some. Same with AF.
This was the 4th year of a 4-year set, so games were pretty much predetermined a year ago. Some teams designated their home games to other locations, such as someone moving a game to Dallas, etc.

Thanks for clarifying this sdcoug. Not everyone here remembers the rotation set back in 2013. Assume next year we'll be back on with BSU, AF, NM in the out of division rotation and assume CSU, USU, WYO will be off. Moving a game to Dallas? Please explain. This is something of a non story announcement from MWC. We already knew who we would play, just not when. They could have waited till March when they finally figure it out. Hoping for NO Friday nite home games. Come on Hair, do the right thing for the conference champions.

Can't recall if NM did the same this past year, or if it's just AF's decision to move the game to a bigger stadium. Thought I saw 1 other neutral site game, but can't recall?
Yea, Friday (& Thursday) nights suck. Especially in MV. Hoping for all home games to be Saturday night games at 5, and all broadcasts on ESPN/ESPNU. Then again, that's dreaming....

This is the last of our weak schedules. In 2017 we have the following home schedule. Davis Stanford NIU BSU UNM FSU UNR That is a pretty good home schedule. Then in 2018 we will have... Sac State ASU EMU SJSU UNLV Hawaii AFA Not as good as 2017, but better than recent years and the first time in a long time with seven home games. For now are we playing boise once every 4 years, or how does it work?

If, we both make it to the championship game in the MW it would be a much more exciting game to view. That's the way to play them!

Other than Cal that home schedule stinks. Well, okay, so it stinks. As long as we are in the MWC, our schedule is going to stink. Even attractive things can sometimes assault the olfactory system. Dennis Miller just got back from Antarctica and reports that penguins actually stink pretty badly. Look, if creatures as cute as penguins can stink, why should FB opponents such as UNLV, Hawaii, and San Jose State not stink also? As for me, Rebels, Spartans, etc. are not even as cute as penguins. To use one of my least favorite current clichés, it is what it is. AzWm

At least suprise for the MWC.

For now are we playing boise once every 4 years, or how does it work? On two then off two. The MWC could change it to something else in 2017, but there are not a lot of other options. The P12 does nearly the same thing, except with a caveat. The No-Cal schools (Northern Div) play the LA schools (Southern) every year - only way they could get Stanford/Cal to agree not to be in the same division.
Not sure I'd want a deal (like basketball) where we'd always play the best, such as Boise & AF or Boise & NM or Boise & CSU, or whoever? Not with so few games, and not with the winner of each division playing for the title.
So yea, I do agree there aren't a lot of other options. However, they could shift it up a bit. Instead of us being on/off with BSU/NM/AF, they could divide AF/BSU, so 2 years we'd play BSU/CSU/USU & 2 years we'd play AF/NM/Wy. It'd mean we'd play CSU/USU 4 years in a row & miss AF/NM 4 years in a row, but wouldn't be the worst thing. We did just play AF. We'd still play the same amount over 4 years.
But then again, who's the "best" does evolve. For all we know CSU/UNR could be great next year & AF/NM suck.

All of that is possible, additionally the MWC could choose a "permanent rival" from the other division. They could also split it as north amd south and put UNM, UNLV, SDSU, FSU, SJSU AND UH in the same division. Buy, I think they will stick with what they are doing.

Aztec fans who decide whether to attend games based on who the opponents are aren't really Aztec fans. Agreed. Some here are exactly that. Just critics who most probably don't go. Saying a home schedule with a pac12 opponent sucks is a know nothing observation.

Who should they schedule then ? Denver broncos? Or Notre Dame perhaps? Let's try anyone in the top 100. In this past season's rankings on CBS, Northern Illinois was ranked 59th and South Alabama was ranked 98th. Mission accomplished... anything else I can help you with? ETA: And if you're bitching about our "weak conference", we also have: Boise State (#41) Air Force (#61) Utah State (#73) Nevada (#74) Colorado State (#76) San Jose State (#78) New Mexico (#79) Not stellar, but 8 out of 12 teams top 100 (including us at #32) ain't bad... Some "name" schools from "name" conferences that didn't crack the top 100... Kansas (#124) Oregon State (#108) Purdue (#105)
