LOL. The students don't go anyway! yoda, with that statement you just proved how ignorant you are on that subject. There have been a number of games this year when the students showed up in big numbers! Correct you are. I was stunned to see how many there were for Wyoming. Of course they had almost all gone to parties by the chilly end of the evening. I'm not sure Yoda goes to games

Yoda, what I said was only in response to your statement that " the students don't go anyway". It has already been proved by other posters here that statement is completely wrong! I will not get into a ridiculous argument with you on how many , or for how long. You can say the students attend all day long, but that does not make it so lol. Do you attend games? If you do, do you glance over at the empty Student section game in and game out? Even the one game [Wyoming] where I was very encouraged to see the Students turn out in large numbers --------- they all left at half-time. I am not even sure how you can debate this point. Student attendance is not very good. Non-student attendance is not very good. Some people here says it takes winning to get people to attend. We are winning. Over the last 25 MWC games we either have the most wins of any team or are second to Boise. 25-5 isn't it? How often have we been 25-5 in conference? We certainly weren't that good when we had Faulk. And I believe attendance was better when we had Faulk and had two losing seasons.

I predict a small bump to 30K (Actual butts in seats). That will probably translate to about 35K on the board. Thanksgiving weekend will put a damper on student attendance, and there may not be as many local supporters "in town" for this game. I'm too lazy - and the turkey consumption hasn't even begun yet - to look up past TG weekend game attendance data, so these numbers are based on nothing more than speculation.

There have been many threads in the past that looked at basketball attendance and how it was between 40% and 60% of capacity for years even after we had started winning and had been to 3 NCAAs in 7 years. Then one big year and bam, sellouts. If we had a player of Faulk's national presence and something like an 11-1 regular season could create a tipping point. Me, I think the Wyoming game is an indication of where the attendance is headed on a week to week basis. I expect 40k this weekend.

The last two post Thanksgiving home games averaged 24k.

Not to mention a good 2,000 of that 12,414 aren't showing up at the hoops games either.

The Aztecs can finish the season in the top 25, and if they do that, attendance will start to tick up. Furthermore, the Aztecs will be playing in a new stadium within 5 years, and we will be talking about sell outs!

It would be awesome to see a huge crowd. This team deserves more love from San Diego.
