Sorry to tell you this B5.. but the Republican party is owned by Sarah Palin, Beck and Limbaugh. Says the Democrat... I don't know a single Republican who likes Palin. There are some who like her stances on taxes and smaller government - but those are generic conservative views that we all share in the first place. Just because Palin's sharing that view doesn't mean that people like her or would support her as a Presidential candidate. Almost all Republicans that I know think she's a joke. She's mouthing the right words, but that's about it. She carries some weight with the angry fringe, but that's it. I don't always vote along party lines. It's true my Republican friends don't like Palin.... however, I think they are in the minority.

They're just loud and get a lot of press attention.

Care to explain how Gov. Moonbeam is going to do it? Or is your statement motivated merely by hope? AzWm The same way he got us to a $6 billion surplus until the day Prop 13 passed. But he said he won't raise taxes this time, didn't he? And last time he didn't have public employees contracts (and their union) to deal with. He just set those wheels in motion and left the state to flounder three decades later. (Remember, Brown was the one who allowed the public employees to unionize, and now that is the most powerful union in the country. Their contract gives them greater job security, higher pay, and far richer pension plans than private sector employees could ever hope to have. THAT is a huge part of what is bankrupting the state, and Jerry put that in place.) (And Prop 13 was the most necessary prop we've had to date - thousands of Californians were losing their homes due to draconian property tax increases. Seniors, in particular, were hit the hardest. Oh, but they didn't really need their homes, did they? )

Other than the swipe at the a small minority of creationists, I think you do a good job of calling out the failure of a Liberal Democrat dominated public school system. Do you think Jay Leno is talking to a bunch of Young Republicans when he goes down to Hollywood or Universal Studios to interview the absolutely clueless? Please spell out how it is the "Liberals" fault??? Oh and "clueless" can easily be found on both sides... or are you an ideologue?? The liberal Democrats support the care and feeding of the wholly ineffective Department of Education, it is the liberal Democrat that dominates the College Faculties that teach our teachers. It is the liberal Democrats that control and dominate the Teacher Unions that make up our school faculties, it is the liberal Democrats that keep concepts of vouchers, merit pay, Charter schools, etc as far away from main stream as possible. Other than that, the condition of our public education system is not the fault of Liberal Democrats.

Who loves Palin? A small minority of people on the right. She has HUGE pull with that minority, but she will never win the Republican nomination. The media loves to play her up to make the right look bad, of course, but she's on the fringe... Sorry to tell you this B5.. but the Republican party is owned by Sarah Palin, Beck and Limbaugh. I think that you will find that the folks you mention are merely catching the draft from the Taxed Enough Already folks. Palin raises lots of money for Conservatives and their causes while the other two are merely provocative entertainers.

Fiorina is a clown. How can anyone vote for her after she ship thousands of jobs to China and India etc. Regardless of whether you're a Dem or Rep. this was not right. Just think about all the family that got affected.

Just think about all the family that got affected. Seems to be the corporate M.O. of the US in recent years. So you Walmart lovers, keep eating tilapia, catfish and shrimp raised in sewage and toxic chemicals in China to save a couple bucks... you'll pay those back in doctor's bills a few years down the road. Why not support US Aquaculture by eating tilapia and catfish raised in clean water and fed clean food!!

Just think about all the family that got affected. Boxer's a bigger clown. She's arrogant, condescending, and completely lacking in common sense - and she has zero desire to work with anyone who has a different political point of view than she does. It's her way or the highway. Her way stinks. I'm voting for Fiorina. I'm not thrilled with either of them, but Fiorina's the lesser of two evils by far.

Just think about all the family that got affected. Take a few business class and learn what is like to run a huge firm and what it means to make money and respond to the needs of the board of directors. The bottom-line that is a U.S. Company wants to remain competitive in the market place it has to reduce costs. I know many of you would not buy an HP product(made in the U.S) if it costs double what the Dell product(made in China) costs....most of you will buy the Dell to save a buck. It is the same thing that shipping jobs overseas does, it reduces the cost of putting the product on the market. I hate that it works that way and wish Americas were willing to pay more to keep Americans working but they will not as in the Walmart example above. The HP jobs were lost, lost to things such as unfriendly CA taxes on "evil" big business and U.S. wages. I think Mrs Boxer who NEVER ran a business a day in her life was been responsible for more job loses in her 25 years in the senate than can be accounted for, she sponsors bills such as Cap and Trade(a huge jobless bill) and Obama Care. She secretly helped Code Pink get supplies and support to the opposition in Iraq those leading the deaths of American Soldiers, Sailors and Marines...American kids, who have American parents who pay American taxes. Mrs Boxer is a sick evil woman who only cares about political power and could careless about any single voter. Ms. Fiorina did what was necessary to keep HP afloat and a viable option for customers to purchase and for that she made out to be an evil person....stop watching political adds and take a few courses in business.

Both Boxer and Fiorina are clowns but I believe Fioriana is the bigger clown. All the Republicans and their free trade agenda will bring this country to the ground. You guys should try googling US trade deficit by countries and you will see what I'm talking about. The US will become a third world country pretty soon.

Just what does Prop 13 have to do with State finances? Do you know where property taxes go? Well I was even younger in those days, so the best I can do is quote Wikipedia for what it's worth: He was both in favor of a Balanced Budget Amendment and opposed to Proposition 13, the latter of which would decrease property taxes and greatly reduce revenue to cities and counties. When Proposition 13 passed in June of 1978, he heavily cut state spending and, along with the Legislature, spent much of the $5 billion surplus to meet the proposition's requirements and help offset the revenue losses which made cities, counties and schools more dependent on the state. His actions in response to the proposition earned him praise from Proposition 13 author Howard Jarvis who went as far to make a television commercial for Brown just before his successful reelection bid in 1978Had to dig around I see. The idea that property tax pays for schools on the local level and that Brown raped the state rather than insist on making local school boards cut costs should not escape you.
