California is well represented on that list. I would never think of some of those areas. I know about Bakersfield and Fresno, but El Centro? I had no idea. The lower portion of the Central Valley is toxic. This should probably be "off topic" or "political".

Right now, I'd say USC is the most "polluted"

San Diego, polluted with Steeler fans from what I could see and hear. What a crappy loss!

When a friend of mine was growing up, his family lived on a farm labor camp outside Tulare and he got a PT job driving an aggie truck once he got his license. One night over beers he told me stories about some of the ghastly pollution he saw, which he was smart enough to know he shouldn't report to the authorities or the job would end immediately. As to El Centro's future, if the feds don't act to save the Salton Sea, the entire Imperial Valley is going to be a toxic waste dump.

Plus, across the border, in Mexicali, they burn tires, trash, dead crops/vegetation and the smoke drifts over the US and settles. Sometimes like fog. Then there are sand storms.

This thread clearly does not belong here. Fresno State-related topics dealing with athletics would be another matter.
