T-shirt fans crack me up. Like I said earlier, they act like they were spurned exes. We are a great destination but face it, we aren't the be all and end all to many kids.

What a lame excuse the HS school coach gave... Cage will become the Big Stiff You trollin'? How can you call a possible NCAA investigation lame? Notice the timing of the NCAA leak and subsequent article. How many recruits have we signed in that period? It's very relevant and ALL recruits would proceed with caution. Oh...and then you call him a BIG STIFF for not choosing SDSU. Someone needs to give you the hook...now. Can't wait! - Bart Scott

From a VERY reliable source. His high school coach said the NCAA issue influenced his decision to pick Oregon over SDSU. So if the NCAA says there is no investigation and no basis to conduct one, we should call all of the recruits we lose and see how firm their verbals are. I have no clue but I think you need to read again what I wrote. Take your time. Take all the time you need. I see nothing in what I wrote to come to the conclusion you derived. I'm stating FACT if you draw a different conclusion so be it. To be honest I'm searching for a logical explanation to your post.

Get used to this shite! SDSU has a long history of this cr@p. Look at FB: Nate Wright's kid, Nope!, Willie Buchanon's kid, Nope! Don't take any of this too seriously, remember it's the MGC!

It's only a verbal but if he does sign I hope Oregon will continue to be an average Pac12 team and his game never progress. His game never progresses....ouch

The way SDSU has treated the players and coaches has a lot to do with this problem. Some people believe that Willie Buchanon was the best corner ever. But we did not recognize him until recently. Smokey Gaines was fired after re-shaping the team. Note that none of his player's sons have come here.
Most players identify with their coach as well as the school.

The school needs to stay connected to and honor it's athletes that created many memories on The Mesa!

I think Cage will become a big stiff...His dad should come out and explain to the SDSU fans why he chose Oregon over his alma mater The fact that he has not spoken says that he is not 100% in approval His son had a chance to kick up our schools prestige to another level across the country... These kids forget that our school has been a top 10 school in the rankings...once with the kawhi team, the other with Thames leading the team and win over Kansas Has Oregon proven to be a national caliber team...don't think soNCAAT records since 2002: ORE: 10-7 SDSU: 6-8 They've done better than us on the stage that matters.

Cage jr. is not good at basketball so it is a perfect fit for Oregon.

Sometimes they work out sometimes not. No easy task living up to All Pro type fathers. Give them an "A" for their attempt.

What a lame excuse the HS school coach gave... Cage will become the Big Stiff Will NEVER, EVER live up to his father's status of being the greatest Basketball player to ever set foot on the mesa. Too much pressure for him, I guess..... Smart move on his part(I guess) not to further embarrass himself trying to live up to his father's legacy here on the mesa. Enjoy the money, Nike, facilities and the perks, chump. BTW, Before anyone says anything, "you stay classy, San Diego." Because that has always worked out so well on the consolation prize over the years, right?

Wow... scorned lover syndrome is rampant here. Kinda reminds me of New Mexico fans, which is... ahem... unflattering.
_______ EDIT: To M. Cage Jr: Good luck in Oregon, unless you're playing the Aztecs.

Angry babies. By all accounts Cage is a good kid who would have been a huge get for us. Under Fisher we haven't exactly killed it recruiting and developing bigs. He would have easily been one of the best bigs that we've had in years. I wish him well. I don't blame the kid for wanting to play in a better conference. I don't blame him for being worried about the NCAA preliminary inquiry. I don't blame him if he decided to build his own legacy rather than follow the old man's path. I do blame these AM posters who are wishing a kid ill while suddenly hating him.

MJ picked his own path and picked a pretty good college town to attend college. Sure we think our basketball team is better as well as our coaching staff but he may have felt more comfortable with the kids on that team and liked how the coaches there were planning on using him better.
Hope for the best for MJ and his family. If he becomes homesick you know where he's transferring. If he doesn't feel he's being used properly you know where he's transferring. If he has a great career in Oregon than so be it as well. Would have been nice since we really need another big man but it's time to move on.
