I just want UNLV to live up to the hype! It's good for the MWC and for SDSU come March. I think UNLV is eventually going to get it together, there is no way they can continue to recruit the way they do and remain so horrible. Ditto for USC. |

How's that helped their in season success of late? :-)

You're right...somewhere along the way UNLV will figure out that character wins over talent...and that defense wins championships... Once they figure that out...then they will no longer get recruits who don't want to play defense and have questionable character...but if that happens...there goes UNLV recruiting...because that is their main stable of recruiting... Coach Fisher...along with Coach K, Sean Miller, Roy Williams, Bill Self and select others understand that character and a "team-first" attitude actually counts for something...it's just something that Dave Rice may never comprehend... UNLV is a decent AAU team (all offense...no defense...give me the ball so I can shoot and impress the scouts)...they will win games through sheer talent...but when the game is in "crunch-time"...I'll take the Aztecs any day... |

Being 100% honest, I really don't think any team in NCAA basketball history has done less with more. It's amazing.

Probably the only program willing to take him on. My bet is he sucks up a scholarship this year & never sees the floor in 2017.
In the meantime, they'll have a TON of talent during practices this year and with Obekpa on the scout squad their bigs will just get that much better.

Obekpa is an impressive talent on the floor especially as a rim protector. But a red shirt year in Vegas? That could go so far sideways I can't even comprehend. This dude could wash out in that town on a random Wednesday.

Las Vegas the best place for a kid with an attitude, has no self control and likes to hit the pipe. Will he see the floor in 2016-2017. What do we care it burns a scholarship for them.

I may not agree with the signing, but it will definitely make Zimmerman and Goodluck work in practice. I wasn't a fan of his off the court issues, but he's a Rebel now and I'll support him and wish him all the luck on his 2nd chance.
