Here's his new list. @brodricksjones3: Arizona St, Oregon, Washington St, Colorado, UTEP, Memphis, Providence, SMU, Florida St , Long Beach St. Nebraska. I have no doubt all those schools would love to have him. Getting an athletic big this late in the process is rare and he has terrific upside. Will just need a couple years to develop. What I'm curious about is how many of these programs have open scholarships (i.e. WSU doesn't ) and if PT is an issue, what makes him think he'd see the floor at Oregon in the next 2 years? SDSU gave him his best shot at PT over the next 2 years IMO.

Both coaches and players have made the wrong decision and right decision ,they deal with it and move on from it . Aztec coaches have rewarded guys similar to AQ ...( lost transfer recruits), suggested to certain guys it was not best for them to come here , Younger Leaf , ... recommended to James Johnson..... that he would get PT at another college , ( scholarship are 1 year contracts After Player signs NLI ), SDSU got screwed by Young as he dumped Aztecs for Kansas . Held scholarship for injured players and those trying to make it academically , Shelton, Heath... All part of the system of rules that come with a scholarship . Aztec coaches should not be considered , corrupt if they wait to make a final decision with BJ until later in July or even August . That could give both sides an opportunity to meet in person , Aztecs get a better feel for options and BJ a true picture of what schools have scholarship available for him , or is a Prep School or JC a better option . Other schools place limits on options for transfers , so could SDSU after they actually get a complete explanation from BJ . Give him a blanket release now and we have nothing to say later . SDSU can always widen the choices but not go back . Does not mean coaches are ruining BJ only making him realize there are things we learn from our decisions going forward in life . At the very least BJ owes the staff a personal conversation , before any thing moves forward.

No reason for the Aztecs to be petty. Broderick wants to go somewhere where he can get some playing time. I wouldn't even restrict him from any MWC team. I would only restrict a team if I thought there was some communication before his "decision". I wouldn't care if he ended up at San Jose St -- in fact I would encourage it ... there would be a certain amount of satisfaction in beating him every year with the secondary benefit that he actually may improve that team enough that playing them doesn't hurt our resume as much. I think it would be funny if Fisher said he couldn't transfer to any MW school - except San Jose State

Let him transfer wherever he wants... he hasn't developed at all in the last four years.
I say... go to UNLV or UNM and waste a scholarship there.

It is a matter of priorities for the coaches , first coach the guys that are here for the summer , then go out and evaluate talent for 2016 . When that settles down in August . They can get together and decide what is best for SDSU . BJ let the Aztecs wait and lose any chances or even consider getting a C/PF transfer or 2015 HS recruit . Nothing vindictive against BJ but it should be at the back burner for coaches to make decision on if they choose to let him go to what schools . Just wondering if he did not pass SAT would he have asked SDSU to hold scholarship for him ? Also if we just let him go to a school similar to the Ducks or .... does he learn anything from the experience or do we hear the quote ..... so happy to have made the right decision going to the Ducks ... If nothing else he should talk to the SDSU coaches in person as a learning experience . There is no need to be considered the " easy nice guy staff" that you can walk over . We would not be the first school to have select schools for a transfer , nor we will be the last .

I and probably some on this board wondered about his signing last year. We just didn't need another skinny forward. However we offered a scholarship and he signed. Now he wants out. He can play where ever he wants except MWC and P12. Go play in the WAC or WCC. Oh that was the doorknob hitting you on the way out.

Big deal. Dude couldn't pass the SAT. Probably thought he had to study for the urine test. Can't spell buddah either. BFD is right.

I saw him play in the So Cal Regional playoffs at La Costa Canyon for the only time. All of his "attributes" were on display. I sat next to an older guy who was obviously an Aztec fan and most likely there for a chance to see him play as well. We joked about swapping recruits with USC. His most telling comment to me that night was "He doesn't look like a Fisher recruit". I agreed totally then and especially now.

The biggest positive was at the very end of the game where he hit 2 good looking free throws

Hey he got a scholarship offer from Memphis and seemed excited about it. Hmm.... haven't a few players transferred out of there lately? Why would you be excited about possibly joining a program that just had a handful of players transfer out. That should be a red flag right there.

Likewise for Zabo. Go to Memphis kid, they lost the 2013 recruiting class in 2 years. Treat Memphis like a JUCO and transfer out after a year if you put on 30 pounds.

I being vindictive in not in my nature so I hope no one sees my comment that way, but I am in concurrence with the view of releasing him with the condition of no PAC-12 or MWC teams. He can go to the Big West or some lower echelon conference here in the west or make the move eastward. That move, as late as it was made in the recruiting year, needs to have some sort of consequence attached to it. It was not a good character move on his part in that we're stuck with no one to fill that slot this year.

Not sure how any of these schools can add Jones, UTEP and Memphis are to the (13) player limit and 'Cuse just signed Tyus Battle. They have scholarship reductions (10) a year. I think Providence is only school with a spots left.

I think Providence is only school with a spots left. Yea, it's odd. But if he's making official visits, meaning they're paying his way out, they must have a solution in mind. Doubt they'd bring him out otherwise. But is odd. Especially Cuse, with sanctions.
