I think we have a good opportunity to showcase what we have, but QB and secondary play will be pivotal. I think our conference schedule is similar to the last two years. We lose one good game with BSU for two potential good games with CSU and USU, and the OOC is good. I am eager to see how the coaching changes will play out. I say at least 7 wins (or 6) even if we have growing pains with coaching and new QB. HOME IN BOLD USD- Win Cal- Loss SOUTH ALABAMA- Win 1 Penn State- Loss FRESNO STATE- Win 2 Hawaii- Win 3 San Jose State- Win 4 UTAH STATE- Loss Colorado State- Win 5 WYOMING- Win- 6 unlv- Win 7 NEVADA- Win 8 And I give us the one game handicap so one of our wins can be a loss. I could be wrong, but the USD win (yes, I'm ass-u-ming) still counts as a "win" right? It just doesn't help us in the effort to get the number of D-1 wins needed to earn a bowl bid, correct? Also Christian Heyward is destined to go off on his old teammates and get 6 sacks in the "Cal-stinkin-Berkeley" game, so you can count that as a win as well. Heyward was at USC for two years. Colorado State right now is a mystery with a new coach, but today they look tougher to me in Ft. Collins than USU here. I see us getting 10 wins minimum this year as I do believe we will play 14 games.

10 wins consistently ( and what comes with that- bigger crowds, more TV Games, Better Bowls) would also make it so that we would at least have to be considered when expansion happens again .

The Offensive line will be the key.

The Offensive line will be the key. This. We took some big hits here, and there's definitely a high correlation between success & returning games started among your O-line. If we can plug in these holes that'll be key. That, and staying healthy, especially on either line, LB, at QB & Pumphrey.
I think we go 9-3, then lose a close one in Boise for the MW championship. Bowl result will depend on game we're in.
Agree with those that said CSU on the road looks tougher than USU at home, but neither will be easy.

A gamer's creed, "one hand can change your whole attitude", if the 2015 edition wins 10+ games and a trip to the Las Vegas Bowl I will definitely start taking this program seriously. But yes, as you note, it has to be the BEGINNING of good things to come.

Was it Jalil from Cathedral? Anyway, I'm angling for Heyward to still go off on the Bears, being an old Pac 12 nemesis.

even for other schools it could be determined by QB's . Believe USU has a good one coming back . Know CSU's good one is gone . Have there been reports from the other schools how their QB's did during spring or thoughts for Fall ?

I am counting you and others to do your freaking homework as we work toward August so the faithful and informed (not that many here) can have cogent discussion here on football so we can move past the "sterky, herky, rocky" gibbersh of the brainless and conjur on why and how or why not we will have a monumental season

So be it. As Coach Fish says, you must hold serve at home.

Key, Key, Key. Its a team game, key is they play as a team. QB play will be improved (I believe coaching had alot to do with the regression of our previous QB's) therfore they can only improve. Oline- We have a huge Oline by most standards. Green is a beast when he's focused and we graduated what 2 starters? Dline to me is a question mark. Yes with a 3-3-5 you can overcome lack of size and to a large degree talent. LB's solid as they have been since the 90's. DB's as good as we have had as a group in a long time. WR's need to catch the ball. Not too complicated and again a new position coach to motivate. RB's perhaps as a group the best in the west. DP will gain lots of honors this year. TE's solid> so I have heard and read. Special Teams> never know. USD- Slaughter Cal- WIN, yes Win SOUTH ALABAMA- Win Penn State- Loss FRESNO STATE- Win> BIG Hawaii- Win San Jose State- Win UTAH STATE- Win-Chuckie will be out by this time of the year Colorado State- Win WYOMING- Win/Loss- we ALWAYS blow one we shouldn't (see a HORRRRRIBLE Fresburg team last year) Lower Nevada- Win NEVADA- Win Read more: aztecmesa.proboards.com/thread/43912/early-2015-mwc-football-predictions#ixzz3XfK2FH26

Prediction: We lose to USD and because of that, all the other dominoes fall:
* The uranium rods being stored at San Onofre unexpectedly heat up, melt down and boil half the Pacific Ocean. * Climate change spins out of control, the polar caps melt and the U.S. becomes infested with rampaging polar bears and penguins. * Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, Walker, Cruz, Huckabee, Christy, et. al., all make campaign-ending gaffes, leading to a Sarah Palin Presidency. * We go to war with Iran, triggering a nuclear conflagration with Russia and China. * We finish the season 0-12, but Rocky's contract is renewed so he can see his 20-year plan to get into the Top 25 through to the end.

CSU is supposed to have their spring game today . a battle for their starting QB spot but not going to be close to their QB last year ,who will be an NFL draft choice in a couple of weeks . Still say you are not going to win close games against quality opponents unless you have a quality QB . Interesting CSU had a 10-2 record last year , yet had to really promote to even get to 25,000 in attendance , with a very good QB and coach . The USU QB if healthy will have them in most games .
If the Aztecs do not have at least 1 quality QB , we are going to be average at best ,when it comes to W and L's .

Competent is being able to get the ball to the WRs/TEs with some regularity. Maybe 150 yds per game. Need just enough to keep the defenses honest and not playing within five yards of LOS to overload the run. With that we will be better than average. What is your average? I think we will win 10 of 14 games this season.

SDSU is going to beat COLORADO STATE in Ft Collins? That might be a tall order That could be very difficult indeed since we have not lost to them in a long time, and they may figure it's about time to Ram the Aztecs. Also, the week before we go up there we have to play Utah St. So that could be our toughest two week venture of the 2015 season!

I give you a healthy Alex Barrett, Christian Heyward, Jon Sanchez, Julian Rochelin, Dakota Turner, Micah Seau. To me, given good health, we have depth there as well. The talent level there is just fine. We should be a very good defense this year with speed to boot.

At the end of last season it looked like we would lose one player on the OL. Now, it looks like we may be replacing 3. That's huge and makes me less comfortable about predicting a MW championship.

Terry Poole is one. Lenicio Noble was another. Who else are you referring to? Greene(RG) has been running with the 2s...however it's more likely the staff wanted craighead to get max reps at RG so put him with the first team to prep him for being the first backup and the guard spot. I wouldn't read too much into that and instead would say we are really only replacing 2.
