CAL will be heavy favorite . If we lose we would only play Richmond , who has lost a lot of cred . Still wondering who the 2 teams we play in the first round home games at Viejas ? This T is Not one that I would do again . Any word on 2016 ? Heavy favorite? We aren't playing Duke or UK? They'll probably be slight favorites.

Better read up on Cal, monster recruiting class has them just outside preseason top 10. It would be a great win for aztecs, bigger than slight upset but not quite a huge upset. Wallace is a stud, and Mathews and Bird are solid. Brown and Rabb are lottery picks. The good is its early in season so they may still be figuring things out. I wouldn't think we'd be double digit dogs, but would expect to Cal to be favored by 6+. So not a huge upset but still an upset needed to make final.

They had those monster frosh recruits too. Love the hype. Cal HAS to beat us.

Wallace is the biggest reason cal wasn't good last year. Disagree. Cal wasn't good because Kravich wasn't effective and they lacked an inside game. Wallace didnt shoot well, but was their best rebounder and passer, and is seen as an NBA prospect. Surround him with a healthy Bird, and quality inside talent and he'll be more effective.

As of today, 11/21 game : Little Rock ( Sun Belt Conference ) at SDSU . Not sure who our opponent is for the other first round of games; is it East Carolina (AAC) ? or Sam Houston State ? T website still shows 9 teams in the T, East Carolina could have a good group of returning players , so maybe a decent game if it is them ? CAL game in the semis is key . Win would be major for us over a top 15 team. Get to play WVU (B12) . Lose play Richmond was an NIT team last year but believe their best player transferred out this year .

Playing AR-LR probably won't kill us. They were mid 200's last year, but return most of their key players. So, assuming they didn't lose anyone (or much) to transfer, they'll probably move into the low 200's. Hopefully higher. E Carolina was in the low 200's but lost a starter, albeit not a critical one. Would guess both would be low 200 teams at the end of the year.
Semi's definitely is THE game.

How many wins a team has is, by far, a better measure of their effect on our RPI.

even more important is getting a quality win or two out of the T . Beating CAL would be great . Or WVU but not likely to play WVU if we lose to CAL . Not sure where Richmond will rate ? or East Carolina ?

How many wins a team has is, by far, a better measure of their effect on our RPI. That's obvious. Just pointed how where these 2 teams are most likely to fall out. The good news is we're not facing teams who will drag us down too much, as they should both be improved over last year & fall somewhere in the low 200's (which means they should win more), if not better.
