Something isn't adding up, I just can't see us taking narain to redshirt in 2015 without someone else leaving, Fish isn't exactly hiding the need for a scorer next year. He's said we need to find someone who can score, but he's also said that person could come within the ranks & simply making themselves better. Agreed...and as we've both heard, they really think that guy is going to be the sophomore version of Trey Kell. I think the 4th year junior version of Matt Shrigley is also going to be much improved. The JAM Center can't open soon enough.

For the love of all that is holy, please stop with the abbreviations.
At first, I'd just skip over the posts of the one author who abbreviates everything. But now, it seems to be contagious.
TTFN, I've GTG see a DVD of MM S16 game with KL, MT, BW, and don't forget JF!

Immediate possible scorers: WS3, MP, ZC, TK, MS and JH. I still want 10-15 PPG from SS & AC. Possible improved scorers: DA, DW & KZ May need development: BJ. ADD: Dylan Ennis and or Tollefson. Lots of potential for scoring! I think being better at the point will open up things for guys already on the squad. JH could be that missing link. He is more athletic than Kell and this would allow Kell to move to the 2 where he should be more comfortable. DW pretty much will be our backup option there unless we go after a 5th year PG transfer. With Pope having a full year of practice he could become very special for us offensively next year, he just needs to work a bit more with his inside game. It would be nice to add someone like Tollefsen who already knows how to score the ball but I'm not too concerned about our front line next year.

If Hemsley is the PG next year, his backup could by Kell or Shepard as well as Williams. That means Williams is in a fight with Shrigley and Allen for playing time. In fact, Cheatham could get time leaving Shepard more time at guard pushing Kell into PG more. So Williams is in a fight with most everyone for minutes.

Still optimistic about Narain, although hopefully any Canadian connection to Zabo doesn't hurt us. Doubt it would.

There are now 2 scholarships ,so the Aztecs could offer 2 players where they think they need help . Most important is to hope Winston returns . He averaged 11 points , 5 rebounds , almost 2 assists , 40% FG % . shot 67% FT and Drew the Most fouls-very valuable but does not show up in the box score , plays D and will be the emotional and on court leader if he comes back . So many people think all these transfers are the key for 2015 but Winston and his stats and leadership on all levels would be very difficult to replace .
Sure hope the staff would take a second look at moving guys to new positions . Winston was not a PG . AQ was not a PG . Kell is not a PG . Winston if he comes back should be playing where he can be at his best, using his skills going to the basket , boards , passing . In HS and here he should be playing a forward opposite Malik . Just let them play where they feel most comfortable. If he continues to improve then he deserves at least 25 minutes PT , along with Malik . We also have Zylan , who deserves some PT and the some see the grad transfer Mark T as the answer to the scoring .
Nolan Narian is the next priority after winston a very good player . That can play C/or PF . We are going to need a C to replace Sky and Chol in 2016 . So listen to what he is looking for to be a 2015 or 2016 recruit and get him signed he is really moving up the Rivals charts.

He isn't athletic enough to be considered a combo guard and I think his game suffered because of it. I think DW sat because we had so many issues offensively, we just needed to get as many guys on the floor who could score the ball to make up for the fact we didn't really have a "go-to" scorer. When DW came in he gave us quickness at the guard position that we lacked. JH appears to be the heir apparent to the point now. From what little I've seen of him he is more of a combo guard than a prototypical PG but we have worked with that before with X and DJ. I see Kell and Shrigs competing for time at the number 2, both seem to be similar in their skill sets with Shrigs a better outside shooter and Kell better in traffic. DA is more athletic than either of them but right now is more of a defensive player than an offensive one. He drives to the hoop well but is not an accomplished passer There could be times when Kell runs the point but, to me, that would be more to give guys a rest. If DW can be a bit better on the offensive end then resting becomes less of an issue. Obviously if we pick up another guard that will change things but I see Kell more in the mold of Tapley than a DJ or X. There could also be times when WS runs the point because he is a pretty good passer if we decide to go with a very big lineup.

If Kell plays 28 minutes, 12 of those could be as a PG if Shrigley and/or Allen beats out Williams. When Kell and Hemsley play together, they can share PG.

Don't even know if Z has good handles, rebound well, shoot well, but wanna see him playing on just his enthusiasm alone! If his game is half as good as his attitude.....o lordy....watch out!...2nd year MP,TK, Senior Win Shepard,SS AND AC..... Incoming Freshman PG with serious game.......possible tranfer who can shoot lights out......What's not to like? Let's go Aztecs! As Aztec Bill says "Final Four Type Team".......Coach Fish can go out with a bang!

Per Zeigler in the UT 4/24 . He could be deciding between the Zags and Aztecs . Not sure if it will be for 2015 or 2016 . I hope we keep a scholarship open if there is an opportunity to sign him for 2015 or 2016 .
