Switch Zabo and Kell. Kell plays shooting guard on the second unit and Quinn slides over to PG. Zabo starts!

I think it will only be a matter of time before Zabo is starting. He is getting better every game, while kell seems to be losing confidence each game.

Zabo has played PG in HS and on his CIA Bounce team , quite well , he also attended both summer sessions . Kell was not a PG in HS so it is on the job training at the most difficult position to master . Kell was brought in here to be a SCORER at his natural position SG , something we need . So why not Win / Win for both: try Zabo starting PG and Kell SG on the Second wave ?

Just my two cents here, but I think the staff envision Kell as a PG who can score either on the drive or from beyond the three point line, adding another dimension the opposition has to cover and account for. If he can learn the point and keep his scoring skills he had as a HS player then we have quite another PG, maybe even an X man comparable. Zabo brings a PG mentality and just has "it" as a point. I can go with either one as long as both play and continue to learn.

Give Kell time. It's not like Leonard lit the world on fire when he first started. Neither did Chase Tapley. In fact, I do recall after the UCONN game a lot of posters wanted Tapley out of the starting lineup. And that was after nearly two years as a starter. He's a true freshman getting OJT in the most difficult position to learn and one he's never played. He'll be fine...eventually. Things start to slow down for good players. Some...most take longer than 3 games unless they are a one and done guy, which describes nobody on our roster. He's going to be good. I do think he should get some more time at the 2 guard though. I like how AQ and Zabo can offer different things at PG. Plus, hitting a couple shots from the 2 spot, might give Kell some confidence.

Kell should be behind D'Eryl in the rotation right now. He is the worst PG play we could have because he does not instigate ball motion at all. He is stagnant and a true "ball stopper" to the Carmelo Anthony degree which allows the defense to reset every time Kell gets the ball up top. He is like 0-10 on his slow drives through the lane with one handed clanks and shooting 12.5% overall. Defensively he is OK but still not in AQ's league. With AQ and Zabo there is quicker ball rotation on offense, less hesitation/fear, and better shooting. I want to see more AQ, Chol, and (especially) Pope. Less Kell, Spencer (looks worse offensively than last season), and Shep (who is thinking NBA Draft far too much every time he touches the ball.) the reason Kell is playing point is because he doesn't turn the ball over and can shoot the 3 ball... The problem is Trey is not a creator so there is no rhythm when he starts the offense... The ball stopper moniker is a little harsh It's hard to turn the ball over when your only pass is to the guy right next to you. And its hard to hit threes when you miss every one and shoot 12.5%. Big fat "FAIL" stamp thus far - and I was excited and optimistic when I heard he was starting game 1. Let's go AQ already.

The fact we are able to have this thread is encouraging enough. Doesn't seem like too long ago when we didn't even have a choice. Man I love these hard decisions and Saint Fisher has a plan.

I would start Zabo over Kell and Pope over Polee. Both Trey and Polee play better of the bench to provide spark.
